The walk back to Felix's house was a slow and relaxing walk. Chan, being the gentleman that he was, offered to walk Felix home. Of course there was some teasing about the name Chrispy and guesses as to what prompted that name. None of which were correct, but he tried.
"Okay, you went to the beach, right?"
"Mhm..."
"Your stubborn butt didn't put sunscreen on..."
"Okay... Wait what?"
"Shh! I'm not done. And you got so sunburnt that you looked like you had gone through an air fryer for 20 minutes at 180°."
"No." Chan laughed. "That's an oddly specific time, though."
"Yeah, I stole it from Minho." Felix shrugged. "You remember him?"
"How could I forget..." Chan rolled his eyes, remembering the My Little Pony weight incident.
"Oi! Don't roll your eyes! It was a good dare!" Felix shoved Chan's shoulder.
"For you..." Chan muttered.
"Oh, shut up... You salty old sea dog."
"Whoa! We're pulling out the big boy insults?" Felix shot Chan a glare, effectively shutting him up.
"Anyways, I stole it from Minho. He threatens one of his other friends like that and I thought it was funny, so I stole it." He shrugged again.
"Hmm... And does Minho know you stole it?" Chan asked.
"Did you not see the copyright symbol next to my speech bubble?" Felix responded.
"...What?"
"Nevermind..." Came Felix's reply. "But yes, i asked his permission before I used it. Duh. I'm not that evil." Chan laughed at that.
"Okay... Oop, we're here. Thanks for helping me, even if I was being difficult." He said.
"Yeah, I'm never helping you again."
"Wait-"
"Kidding. You're welcome, thanks for taking pictures for me as well. Sorry if any of what I did made you uncomfortable. I recognize I kinda just tossed you in the deep deep without teaching you how to swim. With the crop top and harness that is..." Felix hung his head, obviously bothered by the fact he may have made the older uncomfortable.
"All good, mate. While I wouldn't pick any of that out for myself, it was fun to try some different styles." Chan reached for Felix to hug him goodbye, but pulled back when the boy turned toward him.
"Pfft, coward." The younger muttered, wrapping his arms around the older's torso.
"Oi..." Chan complained, lightly pinching Felix's arm. Despite that he quickly relaxed into the hug.
As Felix began to pull away, Chan planted a kiss on the top of his head.
"What was that?" Chan came face to face with a flushed Felix.
"What? Oh..." Reality sunk in. He had just kissed his best friend on the forehead. Heat rushed to his face.
"I'm so sorry, I-" Felix cut him off with a light kiss on his temple.
"It's okay. It's not gay to kiss the homies, right?" He joked quietly, with a blush still present on his face, trying the lighten the mood. Tension that he didn't realize was there flooded out of Chan's shoulders and he nodded, a slight smile crossing his face. Felix gave him one last pat on the shoulder before walking into his house.
So why was it that when Felix said "homies" there was a flash of pain in his heart?
"Mom! I'm back!" Felix called as he entered his house. He slipped his shoes off and hung his backpack on his hook before slumping into a kitchen chair. Many different emotions were rushing through his head.
