“Come on, Lix, we gotta leave if we want to make it to school on time!” Chan called as he swung his backpack onto his back and grabbed his keys from Felix's desk.

“I'm coming!” Felix yelled back quickly messaging Ryan telling him that he wouldn't be riding the bus that day to make sure that he didn't have a repeat of yesterday. He strapped his backpack on as well before quickly kissing his mother on the cheek and yelling goodbye to Lissie who was somewhere in the house. He ran out the door towards Chan who was standing at the end of his walk.

“Let's go!” He said nudging Chan's shoulder as he quickly walked past.

“Oi! Wait up, mate!” Felix laughed as he started running away from Chan who was trying to catch up to him.

Victoria had stayed at a friends house as well. Having been told by her father that she couldn't come home that night, she had suggested a sleepover at one of her friends houses. Of course they had all agreed, because they knew that they'd be able to chat a lot about random things and play video games together.

As they were leaving her friends house in one of their cars she wondered to herself what Chan had done. She knew that he didn't have any friends and was a little worried. Sure, she was tough on Chan and could even be seen as mean sometimes, but they had been so close as children that he would never leave her side. She wanted him to make more friends so that he wasn't always hanging out with just her and her friends, there was only so much that she could take of that.

Believe it or not, Chan hadn't always been this closed off, cold version of himself. He used to smile a lot, and would joke around with her and their parents. But once their Mom died, he started to shut himself off. That was when he started only hanging out with Victoria and not wanting to socialize with other kids his age. It didn't help that their Dad started pushing him to be a certain way. He was supposed to be manly, but not dark and mean. He was supposed to be soft, but not too soft which would make him be picked on.

Chan had so many expectations pushed on him at such a young age, after all he was only six when their Mom died, and Victoria couldn't even imagine what that must have been like for him. Yeah, maybe starting to be mean to him wasn't the way to go, but that was all that she could think of.

As they were riding to school, listening to music and chatting she happened to look out the window. There was Chan with the black haired boy she had seen the other day. The other boy was running down the street laughing and what looked like taunting Chan who was running behind and calling after him. But the fact that Chan was running down the street in broad daylight wasn't what surprised her. It was the fact that he had the biggest smile on his face that she had seen in years. His dimples were out on full display and his cheeks were flushed from happiness. Eventually Victoria had gone too far past to see them any more, but she was happy at the fact that her brother was finally happy again, even if it probably wouldn't last for the rest of the day.

Felix finally decided to be nice and wait for Chan to catch up to him. He stood at a stop sign and watched as the distance between him and the blonde slowly closed. Chan's cheeks were flushed and he was trying to mask a smile with an expression of mock displeasure.

“I told you to wait!”

“Sorry, sweetheart, you walk too slow.” Felix winked at him.

“Wink at me again, and I'll rip one of your eyeballs out.” Chan growled playfully.

“Wouldn't that be kind of counter productive?” Felix mused. “Cause then I'd be winking all the time.”

“Oh, shut up. You're ruining my evil villain moment.” Chan chuckled and shoved Felix's shoulder.
