Two Weeks Later

Xavier's POV

"Xav," I heard Simon's voice from the other end of the line. "You need to come to Ver's house right now."

"I am really not in the mood for more pep talks, Simon," I huffed as I rubbed my eyes from the lack of sleep I had gotten. I was sitting in my bedroom as I tried catching up with school work since I barely gotten done with anything for the past month.

"Give me the phone," I heard Jen's voice in the background as I heard some shuffling.
"Xav," she said. "Sky, Kells, Simon and I were just going through some of Ver's old stuff to see if we could find a clue for where she could be and we found a few letters written by her."

"What letters?" I asked in confusion.

"We haven't opened them because we're waiting for the everyone to be here but there is one addressed to all of us. Mrs. Silverstone told us that Ver was really particular about not showing these to us and wanted to take them with her wherever she went but she must have left them behind in a hurry."

"I'm reaching in ten," I said with a sigh. "Did you call Roy?"

"Kelsi is on it."

"Okay."

It took me exactly ten minutes to reach her house and all the other cars were already there in the driveway. I cut the engine as I walked to her front porch and rang the doorbell.
Mr. Silverstone opened the door and as soon as he saw me, a sad smile came onto his face.
"Come on in, son."

I gave him a curt nod and walked towards the living room to see the entire group already sitting there on the couches and on the floor.

"She's made us promise to her to not tell anyone where she is but that doesn't mean that we're going to stop any of you from searching for her yourselves," said Mrs. Silverstone. "We could've given these letters back to her but they were addressed to you kids anyway."

"Yes, we knew of her decision to leave but even we don't approve of her not telling any of you where she is," said her dad firmly.

"Anyway, we'll let you kids be," said her mom as both of them moved to give us some space and read what was written in them. Just before they left though, her dad stopped short, kept a hand on my shoulder, and said, "Remember to continue living your life, son. Do I want you find her and work things out? Definitely. But my daughter can be really stubborn, Xavier. And we all know that she can make some really bad decisions sometimes too. I just don't want you to put your life on a stand still for her, okay?"

I nodded to him, grateful for his words of support as the two of them finally left the room.

"Here is yours," said Sky as she walked up to me and handed me a letter with my name addressed on it and then moved on to give everyone theirs.

I simply sat still as I saw the rest of them open their envelopes and read what was written. There wasn't one person that didn't cry. Well, except Roy, that is. He simply chuckled at what he saw was in it. I was confused, to say the least, but I didn't ask him about it.

Austin and Jen broke out into sobs. Simon seemed pretty upset and simply got up and walked off. I had seen Sky cry only once but I guess she really did love Veronica a lot to shed a couple of tears too as Jamie put a hand around her shoulder and read his letter with a frown on his face.

"You haven't opened yours yet?" Kelsi asked me, confused, as she came and sat beside me.

I shook my head. "I don't know what to expect."

"Don't expect anything," she said with a shrug. "Take what she has written as it comes."

"How are you holding up with what she has written in yours?"
