"Did you like coming with me?" I asked Xav as we were sitting in his Gallardo while he was dropping me off. "You didn't get bored, right?"

"Veronica," Xav said as he looked at me with a lopsided smile. "I wont ever get bored around you."

I returned his smile with a smile of my own and said, "Its my way of a gift. My family ask me every year what do I want to do for my birthday and I can never think of an answer. Last year, finally, I got an idea for a gift. I asked them to lend me money for donation every year."

"So that was what was there in that envelope you gave Debby. The donation amount," Xavier said as he nodded in understanding. "The group gave you the card, right?"

I nodded as I thought back to that massive card everyone had given me at 12. It had one line messages in small one page paper books from everyone in their own handwriting which were stuck in the form of a collage with our pictures together. Jen told me that she, Kells, and Jamie had met to put everything together. They had also printed out some of our group pictures.

One of the pictures also had Xavier and me singing together at the bonfire while we were looking at each other and smiling. I hadn't told anyone, but that one was my favourite.

"You want to hear what everyone wrote?" I asked him excitedly.

"Isn't that personal?"

"Xav, I read it in front of everyone yesterday anyway," I said as I rolled my eyes.

"You did?" he ask me wide eyed. "So that's why you had to explain everyone about our fake dating," he said as he remembered our group chats.

I grinned, knowing why he was so worried and said, "Yupidy yup yup!"

"Okay, then," he said with a skeptical look and sighed. There wasn't anything he could do about it now anyway.

I took out my phone and zoomed in on the picture I had clicked of the card yesterday.

"Well, there are pictures but I'm obviously not going to show them to you now since you're driving," I said.

"Under the big happy birthday at the top these were the messages that were written:

Dad: I'm very proud to see the wonderful woman you are becoming into, kiddo. Keep smiling.

Mom: Seeing you laugh again brings tears to my eyes, honey. You have great people around you. Keep them close.

Gramps: You're 19. Don't be a prude and lose your virginity already.

Grammy: Don't listen to your Gramps.

Jerko: Ily, SpongeBob. Life wouldn't have been the same without your annoying self around.

Jen: Can't wait to drag you to another shopping trip soon!! Also, you're 19 now. Stop obsessing over Disney.

MonMon: Ask Sky to stop bullying me please. Also, ask Xavier to please chill when I'm with Kells. Thank you. Love you.

Sky: I still don't understand why do you like such handmade gifts because I don't do sap. Hbd.
