So before this chapter begins, I just want to let you guys know that the POV changes four times so please be careful while reading. I usually wouldn't have changed it so many times but it was vital for the chapter and once you are done with it, you will see why.

XAVIER'S POV

"So what's our first step?" Roy asked.

"Well, we've obviously lost our only possible lead because of Officer Murphy's death," I said as I fiddled with my dog tag. "And I'm pretty sure that Garrick is going to be well guarded and well off the map. But whatever it may take, finding him is our only priority. I want this burden off of Veronica as soon as I can. God knows she's been through too much already."

"There you are!"
And for the second time in an hour, I turned around to see someone I didn't expect to be here walk towards us.

"B? What are you doing here?" I asked her with scrunched eyebrows.

"I need to speak to you. Now."

"It's good to see you again, Beatrice," David said with a curt nod.

"This is your ex girlfriend?!" Austin asked in shock.

"Do I know you?" she asked him with confusion.

"No," he said as he shook his head sheepishly. "I've just heard a lot about you."

"Whatever," she said as she then turned to look at me. "You and I need to talk, Xav. This is urgent."

"Well, we aren't talking about roses and daisies either," Roy said as he rolled his eyes. "We're talking about something important too."

"More important than TheDevil texting his girlfriend?" she asked him challengingly as she crossed her hands over her chest.

"How the hell did you know about that?!" Austin asked him in shock.

"How the hell did you know about that?" she retorted. "And again, who is this guy?"

"That's Austin," said Roy. "Ver's best friend."

"And I just finished telling them about TheDevil's history," Dave said.

"Then I guess he can stay," she said skeptically.

"B," I said, now standing up as I looked her dead in the eyes and asked her. "What do you know?"

"Well, if David has told you about everything then I'm guessing you guys already know who TheDevil is."

"Its Garrick," Roy said.

"What I don't understand is that if Garrick is Tony Fernandez's son, the guy everyone used to hate, then how have people let him stay around for so long?!"

"Tony made it a point to never let anyone know about his son," said David. "Which was why he felt so threatened when he came to know that Xavier's parents knew about him. Killing them was the only way he saw would ensure that no one knew of Garrick's existence. Only the people in his inner circle knew about him and even today, they must be the ones protecting and supporting him. As for the others at the tracks, similar last names are pretty common so no one speculated anything."

"Now if the history lesson is over, I suggest we work on finding him," Beatrice said. "Veron- Ver," she said as she corrected herself, "came by Jimmy's Bar."

"The place Kelsi works at?" Austin asked.

"Yeah," she replied.

"Why?" questioned Roy.
