A little warning up front: Feelings. Sad feelings.

"How are you feeling dear?" I looked at my grandma and smiled slightly. "I'm fine. Now that I'm here, I'm sure they can help me.", I said and she smiled. "Always the positive one. I need to go now dear, but I will come back tomorrow.", she said, stroking my hand with her thump. "Alright grandma. See you tomorrow.", I said smiling. She stood up and left my room. Like always she left the door open, so I could see what happened outside. Since three weeks I layed in this stupid hospital bed and hoped the treatment would help.

Since it was late I decided to go to sleep and see what the next day brought me. So when I woke up the next morning, I saw that a nurse prepared the empty room across from mine. I got curious and left my bed to walk to the door. "Excuse me, is there someone new coming?", I asked the nurse and she turned around. "Mrs. L/N. Curious again?", she asked smiling. "Yeah, sorry.", I answered and she chuckled. "It's alright. Yes, we're getting a new patient. As much as I know it's a young man. So now that you know, please go back to bed. You know you shouldn't be walking around, except for your afternoon walk.", she said and I nodded, hurrying back to bed.

Shortly after I got breakfast and as I began to eat, I caught a glimpse of two men walking into the prepared room. The shorter one had masses of dark locks and the other had some curly, dark brown hair. Thats all I could see, as they entered the room and closed the door behind them. Now I was curious and I hoped to meet the new patient at some point. After lunch it was time for my little walk down the hall. I left the bed and put on my slippers, before leaving the room.

The door of the room across from me was still closed. I walked down the hall, past the kind of living room for the patients, waving at the old lady that sat there everyday. I walked down the hall until I reached the end where I could look out the window. Just under the window was the little park for patients and their relatives.

I looked down on the people walking and talking happily with their visitors. Sometimes I wish I could go out there with my grandma, but I'm not allowed to go outside because of my condition. After one last look outside I walked back towards my room. As I was nearly there, the door across from my room opened, making me jump a little. "Now look what you did Paul! You scared the lady!", the shorter man said. "I'm so sorry! I didn't want to scare you.", he immedeatly apologized, looking at me. "It's alright really.", I answered smiling at the two.

Paul turned to the other man. "See, it's alright! And now go back to bed, you need to rest. Bruce said he wants to visit you tomorrow.", he told him before smiling at me and walking away. "Is everything alright? You still look like you've seen a ghost!", the man asked. I looked at him smiling and nodded. "Yeah, I always look like this. So you're the new patient? You look pretty healthy to me.", I said and he smiled. "I'm Eric. You're right, I don't look like I belong here, but trust me I do. Heart tumour. Whats your disease?", he asked. "I've got leukemia. Runs in the family I guess. My great grandpa had it and then my mom. Now it's my turn I guess. I'm Y/N by the way.", I told him.

"Leukemia? All I heard about that are pretty nasty things. You don't look like you're on death's door if I may call it that.", he said and I chuckled. "No, you're right. It isn't pretty far right now, but I'm not allowed to leave this floor and need to stay in bed nearly all the day. Only after lunch I'm allowed to have a little walk down the hallway. But your condition doesn't sound pretty either.", I said and he nodded.

"Trust me it isn't. But I'm scheduled for an operation in three days and I hope that they can get rid of it.", he said. "Well I hope so too. It was nice meeting you Eric. Maybe we can meet again, my rooms exactly across from yours. My doors always open so make sure you give me a wave every now and then.", I said and he chuckled. "Sure. How about I walk with you down the hall tomorrow?", he asked and I nodded. "Sounds great. But now I need to go before a nurse catches me out of bed.", I said chuckling, waving at him before walking back into my room.
