I was on my way to the nearby forest, wanting to collect some mushrooms and berries since we didn't have much food at home. The harvest was poor and someone had even set a part of our field on fire. I saw how worried my parents were, they were scared of not being able to feed me and my brother. Head full of sorrow I walked down the dirt path, knowing exactly where to search for mushrooms.

Since I wasn't paying that much attention to my surroundings I didn' t notice the two men stepping out of the forest and following me. Only when one grabbed  me from behind and held a knife to my throat, did I notice them.  "Alright, you'll give us everything you have!", he said, fear creeping up inside me. "I....I don't have much money, please!", I stammered. "Then give us your shoes and coat too!", his friend said, pulling on my shoes. I tried to kick him, not wanting to give them away.

"Please don't, that are my only ones!", I begged but the one holding me slapped me across the face. "Shut up!", he growled, pressing the knife harder into my skin. His friend took my shoes off and started to grab onto my coat, pulling on it. He ripped it apart and off of my body, leaving me in my thin dress. "Please, just let me go!", I tried again but the one holding me hit me with the butt of the knife. I got dizzy and when he let go of me I fell to my knees. "Please....", I whispered again, earning me a kick to the head that send me into darkness.

After visiting my friend Lord Mensinger, I was finally on my way back home. The carriage was going down a dirt path not far away from the castle, when a familiar smell hit me. "Stop here!", I ordered the coachman and a moment later the carriage stopped. Since the sun was already setting I could leave the carrige without my umbrella. When I stepped out I saw a figure laying on the ground a few feet away. The smell was coming from there.

I walked over cautiously, needing to keep myself together because of the smell but I managed it. Getting closer I realized it was a young woman, dresses in a thin gown only laying on the ground. Next I noticed the wound on her forehead, dried blood on it. That must be causing that smell. It smelled delicious. I collected myself and banned those thoughts from my mind, waving the coachman over. "Could you please take the young lady to the carriage John? She's coming with us so Rosalind can patch her up.", I said, John nodding before carefully taking the unconscious woman into his arms.

He brought her to the carriage, laying her down onto the seat opposite to where I sit. I nodded as a thanks and climbed back in, looking down onto the woman. She must be from the village. What could've happened to her? The carriage started moving again, while I drifted off into my thoughts to blend out the smell of her blood.

Waking up I felt a massive headache coming. Then l realized that it was warm around me. Sitting up I looked into a luxurous room, confusing me. That was definitely not my room or even house! What if those thiefs took me with them?! Panic began settling in and I thought about a way out. Only problem is that I didn't know where I was and who was with me. In that exact moment the door opened and a woman stepped in, smiling at me after noticing that I was awake.

"Hello sweetie, how are you feeling?", she asked, closing the door and walking over. I looked her up and down, stopping at the little bowl and the wash cloth in her hand. "No need to be afraid dear, you're completely safe here. Can I look at your head? Seems like you got hit pretty hard.", she asked, setting the bowl and wash cloth down on the bedside table. I felt my forehead and there was some dried blood crumbling away under my fingers.

"Where am I?", I asked quietly and she smiled, sitting down at the edge of the bed I sat on. "You're at Thayer Castle. The Lord found you on his way back here and took you with him.", she answered, taking the wash cloth and dipped it into the bowl before dabbing it onto my forehead. I flinched a little and she looked at me sorry. "The Lord found me?", I asked and she nodded. "Yes and he ordered me to patch you up. I'm Rosalind, the housekeeper.", she said. "Thank you Rosalind, I'm Y/N.", I answered, as she finished cleaning the dried blood. "Alright all clean. The Lord offered for you to stay until you're good again but if you stay you need to know a few things.", she said, looking at me sternly.
