Part two to the Officer Thayer oneshot

I've been staying home the last few weeks, resting my leg. Every morning Tommy would come by before going to his courses to become a detective. Since I've been camping in the living room, because I can't walk up the stairs to my room, I always heard his knock. Today I was up already, waiting for him like always.

Then there was a knock on the door  making me smile. "Coming!", I called, taking my crutches and hobbled towards the door. When I opened it, I was greeted by Tommy, who smiled at me. "Good morning detective!", he greeted me and I smiled. "Good morning to you too officer.", I greeted back, letting him step into my house.

He walked into the living room after closing the door and put the two coffee cups down on the table. I hobbled back to the couch, letting me fall onto it. Tommy sat down next to me chuckling. "Someone's getting annoyed by the crutches.", he said and I sighed. "Let me tell you, that is no fun. I hope these weeks go by fast.", I said and he smiled. "You'll be back on your feet in no time, I just know it.", he reassured and I smiled. "Thanks. So what did you bring today?", I asked excited and he laughed.

"Your favourite coffee and as a special some donuts.", he answered handing me my cup before showing me a bag of donuts. I snatched it from him, looking inside immedeatly. "Tommy Thayer, you know the way to my heart!", I said, grabbing a donut with powdered sugar on it. He chuckled and took a sip of his coffee.

"Sure I do partner! Tomorrow are the final tests and then I'll be a detective as well!", he said and I smiled. "Thats great Tommy! You think you're ready for it?", I asked and he looked onto the floor. "I'm a little nervous to say the least.", he admitted and I smiled. "Hey, you're gonna do great, I just know it! If you want we can go over things you're unsure about.", I offered, placing my hand on his shoulder.

He turned to me smiling, before bursting into full on laughter. "What? I'm serious!", I said and he breathed deeply. "Thats not what I'm laughing about. You've got a little sugar beard.", he said and I blushed, wiping my mouth. "Thanks for the offer, but I think I got it. Well I need to go, but I'll be back for lunch. Any suggestions?", he asked, while standing up.

"Surprise me! See you at lunch then. And thank you for the donuts, that was a pleasent surprise.", I said and he smiled. "You're welcome Y/N. See you later! And remember don't walk that much!", he reminded me and I rolled my eyes smiling. "Yeah alright doctor!", I answered and he smiled, leaving my house again.

Lunch with Tommy was fun like always. He told me about everything that happened at the precinct. Much too early he needed to leave again but he promised to come by tomorrow after he knew if he passed the final test. "I know you will make it!", I said and he smiled. "Thanks Y/N. See you tomorrow.", he answered, giving me a tight hug, before leaving.

The next day I waited impatiently for Tommy. Finally there was a knock on the door and I jumped up from the couch, grabbing my crutches. "The doors open!", I called out, while walking towards it anyway. The door opened and Tommy walked in with a sad expression on his face. I stopped my movements and looked at him surprised.

"Did you fail the test?", I asked quietly and suddenly a big smile etched onto his face. "Quiet the opposite, I passed it as the best!", he answered and I smiled, hobbling towards him hurriedly and jumping into his arms, hugging him tight. The crutches fell to the floor and Tommy held onto me tightly. "Woah slow down sweetie!", he said, chuckling at my blushing face. "Sorry, I'm just really happy for you.", I mumbled as he set me down again. "It's alright. I'm excited to work with you too.", he said, grabbing my crutches and handing them back to me.

"I've brought lunch, your favourite.", he said and I smiled. "Tommy, you're the best!", I said and he smiled. "Come on, lets eat before it gets cold.", he said walking towards the kitchen with a bag of food. I followed after him, much slower because of the crutches and when I arrived in the kitchen he already placed two plates on the table. "Well that just looks fantastic.", I said, sitting down at the table. "Oh it gets even better!", he said, opening a bottle of champagne, making me laugh. "You really bought champagne?", I asked amused.
