Finally finished I closed the diners door and walked towards the bus stop. Like always the street was full with cars and they created a giant traffic jam. I didn't care I still needed to take the bus anyway. Arriving at the bus stop I looked at my watch, 18:10 pm. I still got ten minutes until the bus would be here, but looking at all the cars I guessed it would be late again.

I sighed and took my water bottle out of my bag, taking a big gulp and putting it back. Like I guessed ten minutes later there was no bus in sight. Normally it wouldn't bother me but there were stormclouds forming in the sky and I forgot to take my umbrella with me. Sadly that was the only busline going out of town and towards my home.

I waited another 15 minutes, the stormclouds coming closer and still no bus in sight. And then there was lightning cracking over the sky and thunder followed shortly after. I felt the first drops of rain hitting my head, before it started pouring, soaking me in seconds. I sighed wishing that the bus stop had one of those little houses so I could shield myself from the rain but with my luck there was nothing I could search shelter under.

I was completely drenched, getting cold to the bone, but no bus was coming my way nor did any of the cars stop to offer help. They all drove past me, completely ignoring my existence. Thats how it is, everyones selfish, just thinking about themselves. The bus was now half an hour late and it didn't seem like it would stop raining. Thats when a cab pulled up to the bus stop, rolling down the window. Behind the steering wheel sat a young man, probably in his early twenties, smiling at me friendly.

"Hey there, can I take you somewhere?", he asked and I smiled. "That would be great but I don't have enough money to pay you for the ride.", I answered with a smile. "Doesn't matter, I would drive you without charging it.", he said but I shook my head no, not wanting to get him into trouble. "I can't do that. The bus should be coming soon anyway.", I said, kindly refusing his offer. "Oh, I don't think the bus will be coming anytime soon. There was an accident and no traffic can go through.", he said and I sighed.

"Well. And you would take me home without me paying you? What about your boss, won't he be upset?", I asked and he smiled at me. "Don't worry about him or me. Now come on, it's not getting dryer out there.", he answered and I nodded, climbing into the car to him. He rolled up the window, while I put my seatbelt on.

"Where to Miss?", he asked, making me smile. "Well, I live outside of town. With the bus it takes me half an hour.", I said and he smiled. "No problem, just tell me the address and I'll take you there.", he said and I told him my address. He began driving again and I began warming up. "I'm Stanley by the way but you can also call me Paul if you like. I'm most likely changing it to that in the near future. And with who do I have the pleasure?", he asked, looking over at me for a second with his soft brown eyes.

"I'm Y/N. Why do you want to change your name?", I asked curious. He smiled slightly, staying focused on the street. "I just founded a band with a friend and I don't think Stanley is a good name for a possible rockstar.", he said and I smiled. "I think Stanley suits you but if you want I'll call you Paul. Do you have a demo of a song you wrote?", I asked and he looked at me again for a moment.

"No, sadly not. But maybe I can show you another time if you'd like.", he said and I nodded. "I don't see why not.", I answered making him smile. "Fantastic. Now tell me about you. Do you live alone?", he asked. "No, I live with my big brother.", I answered and he nodded. "What about work? Where do you work that you need to drive that far into the city?", he asked.

"I couldn't find something near home so I really had no other choice than to work at the diner. You need to turn left there!", I said, pointing at a turn. He nodded and took it, driving towards one lonely house. "You're living here?", he asked, parking in front of it. "Yes, it's my parents house.", I answered and he nodded, looking at me with a smile.
