Sam wasn't even sure if Shu Yi heard him. Between the sound of his own heartbeat and the words that came out of his quivering lips, the memory of that night seemed hazy at best. Shu Yi smiled at him and they slept. Well, Shu Yi slept, while Sam tried his best, only getting a few hours rest before waking up to the man's leg over his in the morning. His face was so close, his lashes would brush against Sam's cheeks if he open his eyes then. It was so close that Sam could just move his head forward slightly to touch his-
"Arghh!" Sam jolted his body towards his desk, his hands ruffling his hair. It has been a week, why am I still not getting used to sleeping in the same room with him!?
"Whoaa dear friend. Did someone die? Are tou even listening to me?"
Sam's eyes caught the mess Ray made in his office from the two bags of Lay's he was eating on the couch but he couldn't be bothered to start nagging."What? What were you saying?" Sam straightened his slouched back as Ray got up from the couch and walked towards Sam's desk, taking a seat with the chips still in his hand.
"I said, it would be nice if you could host a dinner for me and Chih Tian. You know, so I can take a look at your home. I wanted to go in the last time I sent Shu Yi home but like you, he won't even allow me to step out of the car. What did you tell him about me? I'm pretty sure I-"
"Please, I can't even hear myself losing the will to live, with you yapping here nonstop."
"Fine, I'll shut up." Ray made a zipper mouth gesture with his brows up.
Sam buried his head into his arms on the desk, squeezing his eyes shut. He didn't even know what he was stressing about, but he was stressed alright.
He couldn't see what Ray was doing in front of him but he could hear him, clearly. From the growing sound of chips crunching and lips smacking, Sam could almost see the crumbs and chunks of the chips falling on his desk even with his eyes closed.
"Seriously Ray?" Sam lifted his head, his lips pressed together. He knew it, his desk was now dirty, he didn't even want to imagine his poor floor.
Ray shrugged his shoulder, shoving more chips into his mouth.
"Okay, you can talk if you stop eating." Seriously, Sam wondered how this man kept his build while eating so many junk foods all the time.
"Pheww, thank god. I'm so full." Ray said as he crumpled and threw the empty bag into the bin by the desk.
"How can you not be, Ray? You gobbled all my food! You don't even spare me the lunchbox Shu Yi made me."
"Only because you're not eating it." Ray said as he brushed his palms together to get rid of the remaining crumbs.
"I would've if it's already lunch hour. It's only 9, you cockwomble!"
"It's delicious. All the more reason you should invite me for a dinner in your house. Shu Yi could cook for us."
"He wouldn't want to."
"He said he would, the last time I met him."
"You-"
"We talked about you too."
"About what?" Sam leaned forward, his eyes grew wide.
"It's a secret. Our little secret." Ray said with his chin lifted. Sam rolled his eyes, he was not about to force the answer out of Ray. Knowing his friend's personality, Ray would tell him sooner or letter."
