"Bwahahahahaa!! You are an idiot!" Sam rolled his eyes, fully expected the reaction from Ray. He just knew his friend so well but he had no one else to turn to.

"Can't you just be serious for one second."

"So, hahah, let me get this straight. It hasn't been two days and you have somehow managed to get that kid mad? By praising some actor on TV? This is some A-level drama right here!"

"Urgh, I'm leaving."

"Wait, wait. Okay. I'll stop." Ray took his time to ease his guffaw, talking in between stifled laughs.

"So stop. Now."

"First of all, why do you care if he's pouting?"

"Cause he's now my house mate and I kinda need to face him every day. Many thanks to someone." Sam walked closer to fiddle with a miniature skeleton on Ray's desk. There's plenty of weird things around his office including a life sized humerus displayed on the book shelves with 'I found this humerus' sticky note stuck on it. Sam wondered if it's a real bone but he wasn't about to touch it to find out.

"Uhuh..Right. I sulked too before, you never cared."

Sam contorted his face as Ray started to pucker his mouth.. "Are you trying to see what I ate for breakfast?"

"You mean air? When is the last time you ever had breakfast?" Sam didn't bother to answer since he knew the questions were rhetorical anyway.

"I would remember if you pouted Ray, I'd be having nightmares."

"Pfft, So your boyfriend's pouting is so cute then?"

"Y...No! Will you stop it with the boyfriend thing?"

"Never."

Sam rolled his eyes again, with a loud sigh this time.

"Okay okay. Wait, let me google this."

"What the hell? I thought you're supposed to be an expert at this."

"Aaah, you mean this guy? I can see the resemblance." Ray said as he showed his phone screen with the actor's face on it. Sam just made a 'see? I toldya' gesture.

"I have a solution."

"Yes?"

Beep beep beep

"Only if you set me up on a date with Chih Tian." Ray ignored the beeping pager he placed on his desk.

"They're calling you Ray, you should go."

"Nah, they can't start without me anyway." Sam took the liberty to turn the beeping pager off. He knew he couldn't delay Ray any longer, so he started to walk out the office.

"What say you?" Ray added following him from behind.

"You think he likes men?"

"Well, I'd find out on my date and tell you, how bout that?"

"What's the solution?" Sam asked, impatient.

"Say sorry and a dinner. A double date, wouldn't that be fun?"

"Dr. Chih Tian!" Sam spotted and waved his hand high at the young resident down the hallway.

"What are you doing!?" Ray whispered to his ear, his hand gripping the back of Sam's neck. Sam waited until the young doctor made his way to the both of them.

"Good morning doctors."

Sam smirked. "Morning. Say, have you met Dr. Ray? Please accompany him to the O.R. He's lonely."

Sam looked around his dark apartment. It was already 8 in the evening when he got off work. Turning on the light to his living room, he made his way to his bedroom.

He was one step in the room when he hears soft snores from the bed. Right, Sam had forgotten that his bedroom was now upstairs. He was about to shut the door closed when he heard soft cries coming from the bed. He tiptoed his way to the bed, his steps were aided by the bright moonlight from outside, to see the young man already sweating and frowning. Sam placed the back of his hand on the man's forehead and felt relieved as he couldn't detect any sign of a fever.

Sam dabbed the sweat on the man's neck and forehead before he patted him on his arms. He brushed over the deep two inch scar on the man's neck with his thumb, probably the reason why Shu Yi kept on covering his neck while talking. Sam jerked his arms upwards as the sleeping man suddenly turned his body to hug Sam.

"Uhh.. Shu Yi.." Sam had planned to bring the man out for dinner as per Ray's suggestion. He had been ordering food for Shu Yi during the day but as evident from the full table, Shu Yi hadn't been eating that much.

It took Sam a few minutes of wiggling to finally free himself and tiptoed his way back to his new bedroom.

Sam woke up late the next day. He went down the stairs to see Shu Yi on the dining chair bending down to massage his legs.

"Good morning Sam." Sam was greeted with a warm smile which he returned, his gaze shifted to the table. He is no longer pouting?

"I made you breakfast but I think it has gone cold. Is it your off day?"

"Oh. Yeah, I'm sorry. You shouldn't have to."

"It's okay, I'm trying to help around the house."

"You really don't have to.." Sam mumbled under his breath as he walked towards the kitchen.

"Are your legs hurting?" Sam bent down his knees and lifted Shu Yi's legs to rest on his thighs. Shu Yi gave an awkward smile as his answer as Sam started kneading his legs.

"You next session is in two days right? What did the therapist say?"

"Yes, he just asked me to practice walking at home."

Sam looked around his apartment. Eventhough his apartment is not considered to be small, he thought it would be hard to practice walking without bumping onto everything. "Okay. Mm, let's go walk at the park then. I'll help you."

Sam drove his car to the municipal park near the apartment. The green lawn that stretched across a few acres of land was surrounded with many trees and a large lake.

"Just leave your crutches here." Sam said as he opened the door on Shu Yi's side and helped him stand on the ground. He supported Shu Yi's back while holding his other arm around his shoulder. Sam spotted an empty bench under a large tree and decided it would be the perfect place for Shu Yi to train his legs.

"It'd be nice if there are bars to hold on to but this is good enough."

"Thank you. This is great." Shu Yi started walking on his own around the park, with Sam just following his steps from behind. The black turtleneck and cropped jeans he bought looked great on the guy, Sam thought. He watched as kids ran around with toy guns in their hands, circling around the hobbling Shu Yi. He couldn't help but notice the jerk in Shu Yi's shoulder everytime one of the kid suddenly ran from behind him.

Sam sped up his pace to walk beside Shu Yi, just in time before the man fall down to the ground. They just spent the evening strolling and admiring the view with Sam's hand guarding the man's back in case he'd fall down again. Shu Yi stopped his steps at one point, his eyes were staring at the other side of the lake. Sam noticed the frown on Shu Yi's face whom then turned his head to look at Sam, his eyes wide.

"What happened, are you hurt somewhere?"

Shu Yi blinked a few times, shaking his head before looking over the lake again. Sam did too, but he only saw a few native birds making ripples off the brilliant freshwater.

"I'm hungry." Sam laughed at the revelation, Shu Yi's reaction just then was changed to a silly smile instead.

"What do you wanna eat?"

"Anything."

Great. ANYTHING.
