Yi Soo didn't know what to expect when he received that phone call from Seri. She said she know a great place for chinese food and so she wanted to meet up there initially. He didn't bring his car so he said that he'll have to ask his driver to pick him up so he'll be 30 minutes later but she suggested to pick him up herself to save time. She sounded in a hurry and eager to meet up. Hence, Yi Soo knew something was up as he saw her car pull up on their company's building lobby.
This is not the first time in the past two months that they met up for a meal but usually, there are some developments on their case. So, he assumed that Seri might have something and she wants to share it with him as soon as possible.
He smiled at her as he climb in the passenger seat of her car. She waited until he has put on his seatbelt before started driving.
"Where is the restaurant again?" he asked.
"Near Han River." she answered as she started driving.
"Is it good there? I checked the name, it's somewhere I have never been before." Yi Soo added. Seri didn't know what to say and is actually doubting her choice of restaurant. Why did she suggest on going to a place that has memories of that one person she wants to forget for tonight? She must really be going crazy.
But it's already set so she just went along with it. Anyway, she thought of other ways to forget. Drinking.
"I've been there once. They serve good jajangmyeon and jjapmpong." she answered his question after a while. "So, did you discover something? Have you traced where they have transferred the missing funds?" he asked trying to make small talk. They have grown much closer these days but it's still weird as he is still quite aware of his feelings for her and needs to remind himself of the reality every now and then.
Seri did not respond to his question and just sighed deeply.
"Is something wrong?" Yi Soo asked, sensing something with her voice. But she didn't say anything for a while either. "Yoon Seri..." he called her with a warning tone in his voice.
"I may be planning on drinking, too." Seri explained. "So, I'll explain later."
True enough, on their first order, Seri ordered 2 bottles of Soju with their meals. She suggested to book a cab so Yi Soo could drink also but he declined.
"I have an early morning meeting tomorrow...." he said and gestured for Seri to go ahead and drink, "I'll drive you home."
Seri didn't even have to be told twice and poured herself a shot of soju. "So, will you tell me what's wrong now?"
She took the shot and smiled at him, "I'm not drunk enough for that yet, let's eat first."
Yi Soo could not help but smile as he watch Seri eat and drink her order without much pretention. She must be really hungry or she might be really going through something to act this way around him.
"How fast do men move on?" she asked suddenly as she put down her chopstick to look at Yi Soo. He shrugged and thought hard for an answer. "It depends..." he answered truthfully. Seri continues to stare at him as she asks another question, "Is two months enough?"
Yi Soo had realized the possible reason as to why she downs another shot. "It depends." he answered again as he really thinks that it really depends and there is no standard time to moving on. "Is this about Jeju guy?" he finally ask.
Seri laughed with the nickname he came up with. "Jeju guy, Myeongdong guy, Han River guy, list guy..." she mutters mostly to herself. Yi Soo noticed that the alcohol is slowly having an effect on her.
"Seo Dan visited me today." Seri explained. "She saw him with someone else."
She called for the waiter and raised her empty soju bottle to signal that she wants another bottle. "Two months. That was fast." she said bitterly.
