He reached the pinned location in the GPS of her car and so he gently wakes her up to know where to park the car. She showed him her designated parking space in the building and so he carefully parked the car. Seri kept on rubbing her eyes, trying her best to not fall back into sleep.
"Come on, I'll walk you to your door so you could rest." he said as he opened the car door for her. She is still stretching, too tired to move. "You don't have to." she said as she fix her things. "This is the first time I could..." he said smiling at her. "and besides, I need to maximize my time..."
He immediately regrets what he said as he saw Seri's facial expression change. She quickly got up from her seat and nodded, quickly resigning to his request to walk her home. They walked past the security guards who knew immediately who Seri was. He saw them looking at him and was about to say something but decided against it as Seri gave them a look.
"You might need to register in the lobby tomorrow...." she said as they are waiting for the elevator to reach the ground floor.
"Tomorrow?" he asked smugly looking at her. Seri looks away embarassed for assuming he would be going back tomorrow. The elevator doors open and so she stepped in without looking back to avoid his smug face. "So, you want me to pick you up tomorrow? Did I get that right?" he said hovering over her on the elevator.
She pressed her floor in the elevator and Jeong Hyeok made a mental note of her floor. "I think we deserve a break tomorrow, you must be tired from today." he said which to be honest kind of disappoint Seri but she'd like to believe her face doesn't show it that much.
"Okay." she simply said as the elevator stopped on her floor. "You could go now, this is my door. Rest well." she said coldly without looking at him.
Jeong Hyeok smiled at himself as he watch her press the pad of her door lock. "Yoon Seri" he called her to which she just replied with "Hmm?" and continued unlocking her apartment.
"I'll cook you lunch tomorrow." he said.
"No, you should rest..." she suggested keeping her door open as he reached for her arm which made the door just close behind her again.
"I'll be here at 10 in the morning."
He pulled her closer to him arranging her hair which clearly got messy with her sleeping in the car. "When I suggested we take a break, I meant together... so stop pouting... I still mean making the most of the time I got."
Seri found her heart sink the second time hearing these words from him, "You better go home now. Take the car then, you could bring it back tomorrow."
She handed him the keys. "I might still be sleeping by the time you go here so I'll make a notice to the guards downstairs that my uhm, friend.. will be visiting tomorrow."
"I'll just call you when I'm at your door." he said letting go of her arm taking a step back from her and towards the elevator.
"... or you could just come in?" she said, shrugging.
"But I don't know the passcode..." he said as he watch her press the down button of the elevator so he could now go.
She didn't answer and just smiled at him. Jeong Hyeok is confused but he could not look away from the way she is smiling now. The way her eyes disappear when she smiles is the most beautiful thing in this world for him.
They stayed there in front of the elevator door and her apartment door staring at each other. Jeong Hyeok suddenly pulled her close making Seri press her face on his chest. She then felt his lips on her forehead. They both did not say anything as the elevator door finally opened.
He stepped back again as he sighed. He knew they'll see each other tomorrow but his heart hurts pulling away from her.
He waved her goodbye as he pressed the floor where her car is. The elevator door was about to close when she suddenly stopped it from closing with her arms and smiled at him again.
"It's the day we met." she said. Jeong Hyeok raised his eyebrows, not understanding what she meant. "That's my passcode."
He did not get the chance to say anything as he watch her step back from the elevator and the door closes a few seconds later.
