"Where have you been?" her mother greeted her as she was about to make her way to the kitchen after a long day to fix herself some salad.
"I had to go to the coffee shop for the event next week." she explained politely bowing hoping that would end the conversation.
"You know you don't have to go through that much trouble for a stupid launching, right? We hire people for that...." Seri could hear the sarcasm in her mother's voice. She just wanted that salad and then pass out in her bed.
"I know, I just wanted..." she tried explaining looking back and forth from her mother in the couch and the kitchen not knowing if she should even be explaining this to her. "I just wanted to ensure things myself."
"Or you are trying to impress your father..." her mother said, "Admit it Seri, isn't this part of your grand scheme in stealing the company from your brothers?"
This is not the first time she heard this accusation from her mother. She should really be used to this by now.
"I'm going to bed..." Seri whispered losing her appetite altogether.
She jumped in bed feeling the exhaustion. She stared at her bed's ceiling as she could feel the body pain from working too hard and from staying up late last night to attend that ball. In the past 2 weeks, it feels like a lot has already happened, she's graduating, she got engaged, she is handling this launch, her mother... until she could feel a tear roll down her cheek, she did not even realized why she was crying.
She grabbed her bag to look for her phone. Maybe she could find something to watch to take her mind off things.
But then, she remembered how her day went.. the ramyeon, the planning of the event and everything in between...
"Thank you, Jeong Hyeok. I just woke up and I realized I have been super weird today. I might have scared you. I don't know why I'm being sensitive. Thank you for listening also."
"It's okay, Seri :) I'm glad you told me, I may still flinch around you because you are Yoon Seri but anytime you wanted to forget who you are, just let me know..."
"I have a list you know..."
"What list?"
"A list of things I wanted to try once but I can't because of the curse...."
"Then, give me the list.."
"I'll think about it... ;)"
He did not reply after that probably busy studying, she assumed. She decided to watch a new Kdrama she saw on Netflix.
And that night for whatever reason, when the two leads start falling in love, it reminds her of the convenience store and that instant ramyeon which was really hot.
So she panicked and stopped watching.
And oh, that dimpled smile.

Monday
D-5 until the launch | D-6 until the exam
Seri tried to calm down in her car. She is now parked outside the coffee shop. She has been calling the delivery truck from the warehouse in more than one hour now. She was notified that there was a collision on the intersection a few blocks from the warehouse.
It's almost 9pm and Chi Su and the others should now be testing the beans but its is 40 minutes away in an intersection far far away.
