It's Jeong Hyeok's first day in law school today. He doesn't want to think too much about it but he decided to skip work and finally have Mu Hyeok have him meet his girlfriend.
They agreed to meet up in Itaewon as Mu Hyeok has some work commitments in the area. Jeong Hyeok knew it was for Dan but decided to not ask anything about it and just focus on what's important like the amazing woman his brother is with right now.
Meeting her for the first time, Jeong Hyeok understood why his brother is heads over heels for this girl. Sitting across them on the restaurant where Mu Hyeok treated them for a meal, he tried his best not imagining someone beside him. It should have been nice if Mu Hyeok could have at least met Seri.
He has been doing okay for the past two months since the engagement announcement. He realized it gets easier every day. He misses her but he just had to push through each day without her.
"So, are you dating anyone?" Hyo Rin asked. He looked at Mu Hyeok and took another sip of his beer before answering, "No..." he answered and Mu Hyeok agreed, "He's too busy chasing his dreams... as he should."
"Well, that's nice. Mu Hyeok told me so much about law school and all the jobs you did to reach where you are now. In case this guy haven't told you but he's really proud of you." she said while playfully nudging her boyfriend as Jeong Hyeok felt a warm feeling across his chest. "Thanks, Noona." he said and gave a nod to his brother. Mu Hyeok knew exactly what Jeong Hyeok is thinking... and even though, he isn't asking for his brother's approval to date, it's a important that he likes Hyo Rin.
It suddenly started raining after they finished dinner. Jeong Hyeok forgot his umbrella and so Hyo Rin offered to share the umbrella as they would be going to the same bus stop. Mu Hyeok on the other hand received the message from Dan that she is done for the night and is waiting for her on the west wing of the mall.
He watched his dongsaeng and his girlfriend walk together to the bus stop and can't help but smile at himself. He couldn't ask for a better first meeting and is really happy they get along together.
He sighed as he knew how his brother changed since going back to Jeju and watching him be happy for him tonight makes him realize how selfless Jeong Hyeok really is. He deserves to be with someone who is as selfless as him. He always fear that people would abuse his kind heart as he knows how cruel the real world is and he still feels sorry for everything he has gone through since they were kids. If only he could protect his little brother from everything that might hurt him, he would but it always is the other way around.
After he made sure that they have reached the bus stop, he went on his way to the car to pick up Dan. He noticed how she looked distracted when she entered the car and kept looking back to where the bus stop was.
He decided to look away and wait for Dan to say something. But it didn't take a while before she said, "How was Jeong Hyeok-ssi? I mean your dinner?"
Mu Hyeok fixed the mirror so he could look at his boss before answering, "It was okay. We had fun with a friend."
Dan nodded as she opened her mouth to say something but decided against it but just finally went with, "Oh, I'm glad at least you didn't get bored waiting for me." she commented. "I didn't know you were with a friend."
Mu Hyeok knew why Dan looks surprised. He knew whatever he'll say now will be reported back to Yoon Seri. Jeong Hyeok didn't say much about Seri or his relationship with the heiress but he knew it was a big deal at least for his brother.
"Oh, yes. I'm glad they're getting along well." Mu Hyeok said, not proud of the sudden idea he thought of and knew what Dan's next question would be.
