D-1 until the launch; D-2 until the exam
She could not believe that her first event for the company will be tomorrow. She spent the rest of the week since the taste test in the office by attending meetings, burying herself in paper works, not answering any non work calls from anyone, not that the one she was waiting to call actually tried to call her.
That's why she is now here in the restaurant near the Queens group building waiting for Seo Dan as she has been making Seri feel guilty for not answering any of her calls or messages. She was forced to go as Dan has been threatening to not attend the launch tomorrow and she needed Dan as an influencer to be there.
While waiting, she has been browsing her SNS when her phone started ringing.
Han Yi Soo
She took a deep breath as she recalled how many times she declined his calls in the past 3 days, mentioning that she is in a skype meeting or something and could not talk at the moment. She looked around her trying to find another reason not to pick up the call.
Her phone stopped ringing before she could even think of something. She was about to message him that she is busy when her phone started ringing again. She knew she could not avoid this any further so she answered the call.
"Hello, oppa?" she answered unsure of what to tell him. When it comes to him, she seems always unsure how to act, how to address him, she is also unsure if she hates him or she hates herself for having to be the one in this kind of situation. He never did anything wrong but she wonders why he is making it difficult for them. They still have time to live their lives freely why does he want to spend time with her?
"Finally, Yoon Se Ri answered my call." he said on the other line clearly trying to be funny but a part of her feels guilty and somehow annoyed that she has to come up with stupid reasons to dodge his calls so the best thing she could do right now is to fake a laugh at his attempt to be funny. "What are you up to?"
She looked around trying to find a way out of this call. "I am.. I'm actually waiting for Dan. She should be here by now."
"Dinner?"
"Yes, she kind of blackmailed me into it."
"So, that's what I need to do." he joked.
"Sorry for this week, I didn't mean to, you know how it is, right? My schedule has been crazy, there seems to be one problem after another."
"But it will be over after tomorrow, you think I could kidnap you for a quick lunch on Monday?"
She could not respond for a while. She could only think of ramen, the convenience store and the fact that she hates how her mind could relate every little thing to him. Maybe it was not really him but to the person she was when she was with him.
Was - past tense. As it has also been a while since they have talked to each other, she could have at least said you're welcome. Why did she have to send a smiley face as a reply?
"Se Ri, you're still there?" Yi Soo asked as she snapped back from her thoughts.
"Uhm, yes, sure.." she hurriedly responded. "Oppa, I got to go now. I could, uhm, see Dan already."
"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow."
"Yes, see you." she said and ended the call. She sighed as she threw her phone in her bag before it would start ringing again.
"Seri!!!" she heard someone calling her excitedly as she approached her. "Finally, you have time to see me. The last time I saw you, you were trying so hard to not dance with Yi Soo oppa."
