Dan was hopping from one store to another, going through dress after dress. So far they've been through 15 boutiques in the past 2 hours and Se Ri could not feel her legs anymore.
"Can we at least get something to eat first?" she asked as they leave Ralph Lauren. She could see her friend is distracted and confused with probably a hundred dress to choose from. "You know that you'll look good in anything, right?" she asked Dan.
Dan flipped her hair, "I know but I still want to see all the options before I decide and can you please stop making it obvious that you're not enjoying this? It's been so long since we went to the mall together."
"It's because I've been avoiding it..." Se Ri said as she sees Dan with that resting bitch face look. "I'm kidding! Come on, let's get coffee and pastries. I need it to think." Se Ri said laughing as she dragged her to their favorite coffee shop.
"How do you always know what you want?" Dan asked as she was playing with the cheesecake with her fork. Se Ri looked at her confused. "The dress? I told you I've been looking at magazines...and I just knew." she said as she kept her eyes on Dan who is now looking serious.
"No, in life, in general." Dan explained. "Did you wake up one day knowing you wanted to manage Queen's group?"
Now, it's Se Ri's turn to play with her chocolate cake, "No... it wasn't like that. It was a process. I did not want it at first because of so many other things... you know how it is at home, I told you right? I think because of my brothers, I liked it more. You know when people say that you can't have something, it makes you want it more?"
Seo Dan nodded, "So is this Yoon Se Ri being rebellious?" They both laughed at that because they both know how uptight Se Ri was. She did not even have the rebellious teenage phase. "No, this is my way of surviving, really."
Dan looked at her friend, it amazes her how they were in a very similar situation and yet they are very opposite and that thought sometimes pressure her. Even though she would never admit it but one thing is for sure, she could see right through her. And she knew, she is not okay, she would, however, would wait for her to open up because when Se Ri realizes what she really wants, she wants to be there for her.

"Hyung, please stop texting me." Jeong Hyeok complained over the phone. "Are you her father? Do you like her?" he asked trying to sound irritated, "Then stop calling me. She is with her friend in the mall for 4 hours now... I'm in the car, I am studying so no you're not wasting my time. But if you keep calling like this, then, I can't study."
Finally, Mu Hyeok hung up as he promised his younger brother to stop overthinking and focus on his date. He was about to re-read the chapter on business law which he just finished because he was not sure if he understood it the first time.
He could not stop thinking about what happened in the stop light earlier. He buried his face in the steering wheel as he remembered how he stuttered when Dan asked what's wrong.
... and his response. Oh my god, his response. He bumped his head in the steering wheel as he wished to delete the memory in his brain, what if she thinks he is some kind of a creep?
But when he remembered what happened next, it made him feel things.
Her laugh. He made her laugh.
