Diluc, Zhongli and Xingqiu are preparing the anecdote for y/n. Diluc is pacing back and forth as Xingqiu is putting everything together.

Diluc: is it nearly done?
Xingqiu: nearly, just a few more drops of this and we, are, done!
Zhongli: excellent. Now we just need to think of a strategy for y/n to drink the potion
Diluc: how are we going to do that though? Childe isn't going to let us get near her without having her attack us both
Zhongli: I'm not sure we will be able to prevent that
Diluc: so what do you suggest?
Zhongli: we negotiate
Diluc: you have to be kidding me!
Zhongli: no... if there is one thing I know about the Fatui, it would be that they love to make deals. If we can offer something stronger then y/n. They might let her go, that way we can get her to take the anecdote
Diluc: but what can we offer them, that is stronger then a Yaksha?!
Zhongli: ...what about an Archon?
Diluc: y-you mean?!
Zhongli: if it means that miss y/n will be safe... then I'm willing to offer my services to them
Diluc: you would do that?...
Zhongli: ...yes... she doesn't deserve to be used like that. She doesn't even know what she is getting herself into...
Diluc: there has to be some other way!
Zhongli: I don't think we have any other option...

Back on the Tsaritsa's ship. Y/n is in the cell, she is sitting down on a hay bed, looking out peacefully towards the staircase. She then sees a pair of heels make their way down towards her, followed by another set of feet.

Signora: hello dear
Y/n: hello
Signora: ready to talk now?
Y/n: about what?
Signora: well your mask of course
Y/n: I'm sorry, but I truly don't know where it is
Signora: *chuckles* I'm giving you an option here dear... either tell me where the mask is... or I can make your life a lot harder for you. You just need to cooperate
Childe: signora! She already said, she doesn't know!
Signora: as if someone would misplace such a powerful artefact!

Childe looks towards y/n with concern

Signora: this is your last chance y/n! Where is it?!
Y/n: I-I don't know miss!

Signora opens the cell and goes inside. She then takes out a small dagger and strikes y/n on her cheek, leaving a cut across. Y/n let's out a painful cry. Signora stares at her for a moment then locks y/n up again. As she is about to leave. She then stands still, with her back facing both Childe and y/n.

Signora: you wanted to go back to Snezhnaya? Well we leave first thing tomorrow... we will take her to the base... maybe the Tsaritsa can get her to answer.
Childe: y-you can't be serious?!
Signora: what's wrong Childe? I thought you would be thrilled to return home?
Childe: not like this!!
Signora: well I'm afraid this is your only option right now

Signora goes back above deck. Childe and y/n watch her leave

Y/n: T-Tartaglia? Are you ok?
Childe: ... I will be... rest up... we have a long day tomorrow

Childe then also leaves the brig. He walks up to Signora

Childe: what the hell was that?!
Signora: it was a statement
Childe: that statement was uncalled for!
Signora: actually it's quite the opposite. At least now she knows not to mess with us
Childe: all she knows now is that she is going to be punished for telling the truth or a lie!
Signora: why are you so sure she is telling the truth?
Childe: because... that potion makes sure that she tells us everything she knows. It's never failed before. Why would it now?
Signora: because we have never used it on a Yaksha before
Childe: ... I'm going to gather some things before we depart tomorrow... I shouldn't be long
Signora: very well, hurry back

Childe gets off the Tsaritsa's ship and leaves. Back in the city Zhongli, Diluc and Xingqiu are heading towards the place where Childe was staying. They needed to try and get y/n back. They all head into the building and go towards the room they last saw them in. Diluc bangs on the door, to no surprise there was no answer. Diluc then steps back and barges the door open.

Diluc: th-they aren't here?!?!
Zhongli: there might be some clues as to where they might have gone.

They all start looking for anything that could help them find y/n. Zhongli looks in a desk draw, Diluc looks at some papers on a table and Xingqiu looks in the bathroom. As they keep searching, Diluc hears footsteps making their way towards the room. He then rushes towards the wall beside the door frame and puts his back up against it. As the figure is about to enter the room, Diluc grabs them and pushes him back onto the wall, with his sword up against their throat. Diluc stares into the eyes of Childe

Diluc: WHERE IS SHE?!
Childe: Diluc! Thank the archons, I was hoping to find you here!
Diluc: I asked you where y/n was! Not a saracastic remark!!!
Childe: I was being serious!
Diluc: what are you taking about?!
Childe: it's y/n! She is in trouble!
Diluc: yeah that's because you took her!!!
Childe: yes! I know! I'm sorry! But can you kick my ass later?! We need to go help her!
Diluc: what do you mean?

Diluc moves away from Childe so he could explain. Xingqiu comes into the room

Childe: what's with the kid?
Diluc: never mind him! Explain yourself!
Childe: look... *sighs* it's a long story
Diluc: then tell it quickly!
Childe: well... The reason i took y/n, was because the Fatui made me... they needed her for their plan... normally I wouldn't have taken this job but... lately I've been... I've been embracing what people have been saying about me. After what happened with Liyue and me with the Jade chamber, people have been calling me a villain... all blame was on me... so I gave in and decided to just go with it
Diluc: get to the point!
Childe: right... When I gave the potion to y/n, I was going to well-
Diluc: YOU SLEPT WITH HER?!!

Diluc pushes him into the wall

Childe: n-no! *sighs*

Flashback to when Childe kisses y/n

Childe POV

After I close the door I hold y/n in my arms, and slide my hand up to her cheek, kissing her and keeping her in place. I then lead her to the bed while kissing her. As I lay her down, I feel her hand quickly let go of me. As I look down at her, I see tears in her eyes, expressing fear. I hear her crying out, for me to stop. I stare at her, seeing how terrified she was of me... but I also start to see my sister... and how she reacted when she found out who I really was... it was that fear that brought me away from her. I couldn't help but feel ashamed of myself... how can I have let myself use her like this?! I back away from her. The potion had obviously worn off...

I wanted to let her go... but I knew if I did that... that we both would be killed... so I went over to my desk and grabbed the vile of potion. I then went back over to her. She begged me to stop but I had no choice. I continued to apologise as I made her drink the potion... it was the only way I could keep her alive... when she finally drank the potion she knocked out cold... I then left her on the bed as I dropped down to the floor clenching onto my head in anger

Back to present day

Childe: I then had to take her to the Tsaritsa's ship when morning risen... she is there now in the brig... signora is taking her to Snezhnaya... they are going to try and force her for information... I came here to find you... we need to get her back!
Diluc: how do you expect us to trust you?
Childe: ...because what other option do you have?
Diluc: ... how do we get her off the ship?...
Childe: we are gonna have to sneak her off...
