The Other Traveller - Chapter 2

Y/n and Kaeya arrive to the room y/n will be staying in. She looks at the door with a frown on her face. Kaeya uses the key to the room and enters it with y/n. She looks around it cautiously. Kaeya puts the key down on a table by the door.

Kaeya: you don't have to worry anymore, you are safe here
Y/n: Forgive me if I don't believe you straight away
Kaeya: I know this must be scary for you, but trust me, nothing is going to harm you from here... I hope you sleep well miss

As kaeya is about to leave y/n takes a step towards him

Y/n: wait... this vision thing you mentioned... what exactly is it?
Kaeya: well it is a gift. It is what stores your power. Your power is Electro. However you managed to acquire such a special item, it says a lot about you.
Y/n: and what does it say about me?
Kaeya: that you are also special... Goodnight miss y/n
Y/n: ...goodnight Kaeya

Y/n POV

As Kaeya leaves I look down at the Vision again. What about me is so special? And what did he mean by gift? I have so many questions about this world... but what I really want to know is how do I get back? I know my home life isn't great... but it's still home. All my memories were made there... I have never felt this alone, not since dad-

What am I going to do?

Y/n puts her head into her hands and starts to cry. Her cries get louder and louder as she drops down, sitting on the cold wooden floor. She eventually gets up and lays down on the bed with tears still in her eyes, making everything in sight blurry. She manages to fall asleep, finally getting a well deserved rest. Time passes and the sun rises in her room. A loud knock at the door is heard, waking y/n up from her slumber. She is shot up out of bed, scared from the noise at the door. She slowly gets out of the bed and opens the door. There in front of her is Amber, energetic and ready for a new day.

Amber: goooood morning sleepy head, ready for a new day?!
Y/n: not exactly...
Amber: aww why not?
Y/n: well for one I don't have any clean clothes... and these don't seem to be normal clothing for this world... I don't really want to stick out more then I already do...
Amber: well lucky for you I have taken care of that problem. *hands y/n a brown bag with clothes inside*
Y/n: what's this?
Amber: clothes. I wasn't too sure what your size was, but I tried to find an outfit that would be more your style
Y/n: th-thank you
Amber: well you go get changed, and I will meet you downstairs in ten minutes. Chop chop hehe

Amber leaves the room and y/n closes the door to get changed. She rummages through the bag and sees a short purple and white dress with white knee high boots, then tries on the clothing. It was a bit more revealing for y/n's taste but it was still a cute style she liked. She leaves the room and meets up with Amber (dress concept below)

Amber: ooo seems like I have good taste, it really suits you
Y/n: thank you... so what am I supposed to do today?
Amber: well actually I thought it would be good if you met someone first
Y/n: huh? But aren't I supposed to do some jobs to get some money?
Amber: well yeah, but I think first you should try and feel a bit more comfortable in your surroundings, and I think this person can help
Y/n: umm ok if you say so?
Amber: great! Follow me!

Amber takes me out of the building and through the town. I didn't notice how beautiful this city actually was? There was so many wonderful new things there I hadn't seen before and the food I smelt there was a scent I never smelt before, it was such a lovely smell. We then walked up to a man at this one building that was signed adventurers guild. He was talking to a woman there.

Amber: y/n I'd like you to meet Aether
Y/n: h-hello
Aether: hello it's nice to meet you
Y/n: you too
Amber: I thought it would be a good idea for you both to meet, since you both have similar backgrounds
Y/n: y-you're from another world too?!
Aether: yes I am. Amber told me what happened yesterday evening. How are you feeling?
Y/n: not the best if I'm going to be honest, but better then I was last night
Aether: well Over time I'm sure you will get used to living here
Y/n: wait so how long have you been living here?
Aether: umm well a year but it-
Y/n: a year?! And you still haven't found a way back?!
Aether: well no but I'm sure if we work together we can find a way back
Y/n: I'm not so sure about this
Amber: I know this is not easy for you y/n. But sadly it's the only option we have...
Y/n: *sighs* you're right...

But a year?!! What if I never leave this world?! What if I'm stuck here forever?! I don't know how Aether has managed to be here so long. But maybe he is right... maybe I will get used to living here... maybe I should take this opportunity to explore this new world?! Who else from my world can take this opportunity to travel to a different world?!

Amber says her goodbyes and leaves. Leaving Aether and y/n to get better acquainted. They talk about their experiences and Aether's sister. Y/n also joins the adventurers guild and gets her first daily tasks. If she was going to be stuck there for a while. She at-least wanted to work her way for her own place. Even if that meant living on her own. Aether offered to accompany y/n with her tasks but she really wanted to explore on her own too. She only had simple tasks for now, so Aether gave her a map and pointed out the areas she needed to go. They decided to meet for a meal later that night and talk more about their worlds over dinner.

It was nice getting to know Aether, and it's good to know I'm not actually alone in this world. But right now I really want to sink in and get a real feel for what this world is like. I mostly had to gather some interesting plants for people, and meat from boars and birds, at least that's one things that's familiar in this world. Luckily I was given a sword from amber before she left or I wouldn't know what to do. I'm still a bit unsure on how to use this vision thing? The people I have met have all been so kind. I'm not used to having people share kindness with me... maybe this world isn't as scary as I think?

It is starting to get late and y/n has just finished her tasks. She starts heading back to Mondstadt by examining the map given to her for how to get back. It was hard to read now the sun was setting. She then looked up and saw a path that seemed to be a short cut and walked through it. She could just about see the city from where she was in the distance. Out of nowhere she hears a rawr and a loud stomp behind her, slowly getting closer. She turns around with caution. As she looks up she sees a huge beast staring down at her.

It's a a big Mitachurl with a wooden shield making it's way towards her. In fear she stays in place dropping her map to the floor. As she runs away from the beast it chases after her, getting closer and closer. As it is about to grab her, she crouches down trying to shield her self. When suddenly a dark figure swoops in and strikes the Mitachurl away from y/n.

Ahhh who is that?! H-he saved me! I see him fighting the creature with his sword left and right, knocking the foe down. Once the enemy was slain the hooded figure stared down at it. I slowly stood back up and stepped an inch closer

Y/n: th-thank you...

Before I could see who the person was, he ran away into the darkness. Who was that person? And why did he save me? If it wasn't for him I'd be dead... and I can't even thank him properly for his kindness... if I ever meet him again, I'll be sure to make sure he truly knows my thanks
