Planning A Picnic - Chapter 41

Diluc and Y/n are back in the hotel room. Y/n looks over at the bed as Diluc takes off his jacket. Diluc notices y/n staring at the bed

Diluc: you alright?
Y/n: y-yeah I'm fine...
Diluc: do you want to talk about what happened?
Y/n: no... honestly Diluc I'm fine
Diluc: I'm here if you do want to talk though. You know that right?
Y/n: I know... thank you

Diluc takes off his shirt and heads to the bed, he looks over at y/n, waiting for her to join him. She looks over at him and then smiles. She slowly makes her way over to him.

Y/n: you going to read to me again?
Diluc: *chuckles* that's only if you want me to
Y/n: I'm just not ready to sleep yet...
Diluc: well we can just talk for a bit if you like?
Y/n: I think I just want to hold onto you... I just want to be with you

Y/n lies down on the bed and Diluc hugs her tight. He strokes her hair, comforting her. After a while, he notices that she is still awake

Diluc: still not asleep?
Y/n: I guess I'm just enjoying this too much
Diluc: me too.

Y/n sits up and looks at Diluc

Diluc: what's wrong
Y/n: I-I don't know...
Diluc: what happened earlier is still getting to you isn't it?
Y/n: no I-
Diluc: y/n... be honest... it's me...
Y/n: ok it still bothers me... it just... it just caught me off guard and I didn't expect this guy to do something so rude... I just... want to stay here with you... you make me feel safe... I don't want to be away from you... ever
Diluc: and you never will be...
Y/n: how do you know that?
Diluc: ... I don't... but I'll do anything I can to be there for you

Y/n lays back down in Diluc's arms and he kisses her on the forehead. Eventually y/n manages to fall asleep. When she does, Diluc looks at her with relief. He hated seeing her scared, he just wanted to protect her, no matter the cost. When the daylight rose in the room, Diluc woke up y/n by kissing her on the cheek and stroking her arm. She smirked with her eyes closed as he continued

Diluc: *smirks* I know you are awake
Y/n: no I'm not, you're gonna have to keep trying to wake me up *smiles*

Diluc turns y/n's face towards his and kisses her on the lips. She then puts her arms around his shoulders and kisses him back

Diluc: awake now?
Y/n: hmmm that's a tricky one? Maybe just one more kiss will do it?

Diluc gives her one final kiss by sliding his tongue into her mouth. He holds onto that kiss for a while until he comes away for air.

Y/n: *whispers* I guess that works
Diluc: *chuckles* come on, we have work to do
today

Diluc gets out of the bed and starts to get changed

Y/n: umm about that...
Diluc: what is it?
Y/n: would it be ok if I stayed here today? I can give you all the notes you need for the meeting?
Diluc: you want to stay? I thought you wanted me to stay with you?
Y/n: I-I do... I just... I want to plan a surprise for you for when you get back. Plus it doesn't make much sense for me to be there, I'm not exactly needed for the finances
Diluc: you have a surprise for me?
Y/n: yes, so you better get going so I can prepare it
Diluc: *chuckles* ok, but it better be good, since you're leaving me with two knuckleheads
Y/n: *chuckles* I assure you, it's a surprise you won't forget

Your POV

Diluc kisses me on the cheek and heads out the door. Great! Now I need to think of a surprise! I couldn't tell him I didn't want to see Childe! He would know something was wrong! I decide to head into the city and look for inspiration for Diluc's surprise I had to now plan. I wonder through the market trying to find something that I could give to him, but there was nothing I could necessarily give him as a gift, nothing big enough for a reason to get out of work. I then see a market full of bread and cheeses. Hmm maybe I could make a buffet? Hmm or maybe a romantic picnic?!

That could be really cute! I use some mora to buy bread, cheese, grapes, strawberries, butter, salad. Anything I could think of that would be good for a picnic, of course I needed sandwiches, which I could make. I pretty much wanted a classic french style picnic. However, I knew he didn't drink wine so I got him some grape juice instead. I head back to the hotel and ask if they could lend me a couple glasses, a blanket and some plates. Luckily they were more then happy to lend them to me. I also had a basket I had gathered from the market to hold all the items. I placed the basket filled with all the items aside in the room, waiting for Diluc to return.

Diluc, Zhongli and Childe are speaking with a man about the land they are wanting to buy. Diluc and the man step outside the room to talk about his plan with the land.

Childe: I still can't believe he managed to get a girl like y/n, the guy is too focused on his work. She even preferred staying at the hotel then being here with him
Zhongli: I'm sure she just wanted time to relax Childe
Childe: still?! a girl from another world wanting to be with a guy so boring?
Zhongli: well she isn't exactly from another world
Childe: what do you mean?
Zhongli: it is true she grew up on that world, and was born there. But her ancestor was actually Bosacius
Childe: Bosacius?! You mean she is the one people had mentioned. She is the girl related to Bosacius?! part of the Yakshas Bosacius?!
Zhongli: indeed
Childe: wow... she must be quite powerful then huh?
Zhongli: from what I have seen, she does hold quite a strength
Childe: interesting *smirks*

Diluc walks back in the room with the man

Childe: I think I should head off, I don't think you need my help now that I have done my part
Zhongli: now? Why are you wanting to leave?
Diluc: Zhongli, if he wants to leave let him, he's right, we don't need him here now
Childe: thanks, feels good to be appreciated *sarcastic with a smirk*

Childe leaves the room while Diluc and Zhongli continue to talk with the man
