The Nightmare - Chapter 46

Y/n and Diluc finally return to the winery. As they make their way to the bedroom, Diluc notices that y/n is constantly shaking

Diluc: are you alright?
Y/n: y-yeah I'm fine
Diluc: what's wrong?
Y/n: nothing!
Diluc: y/n?!
Y/n: I'm just cold...

Diluc could tell she was lying, but he could also see that she just needed some space with this. When they arrive in the room, they throw their bags aside and just get ready for bed after their long day. Diluc is about to head to the bathroom

Y/n: W-Where are you going?
Diluc: to the bathroom?
Y/n: oh umm ok

Diluc looks at her concerned but then goes into the bathroom. Y/n sits down on the bed and stares at the bedroom door. She felt scared being on her own. Even if it was just for a minute. She gets off the bed then goes to the door to make sure it was locked. She must have checked 3 times before Diluc came back from the bathroom

Diluc: what are you doing?
Y/n: oh umm the door wasn't locked

Diluc knew for a fact that he locked the door. Y/n then went to the bed and laid down under the covers. She was still shaking. When Diluc went over to the bed to join her, she held onto him really tight

Diluc: ...y/n... you don't have to be scared... I'm here
Y/n: I know... I just don't want to be alone
Diluc: you're not going to be alone

He kisses her on the forehead

Diluc: now just relax... and close your eyes. I'll be here. I'll comfort you, so you can drift to sleep

As y/n closes her eyes, Diluc takes his hand and strokes her hair as he holds her towards him. He gives her a soft kiss on her head every so often. To his relief she was finally peaceful and had fallen asleep. Seeing her so fragile broke him. He hated seeing her feel this way. He rested his back and continued to hold onto y/n. Slowly drifting to sleep too. After a few hours of them both sleeping, y/n starts to move around in her sleep from a bad dream. In a quick movement she sits up crying, and lets out a small scream

Y/n: AHH!!

Unsurprisingly this wakes Diluc up.

Diluc: y/n?! Are you ok?!?!
Y/n: I-I-
Diluc: shh it's ok... I got you

Diluc holds onto her as he says this. She couldn't stop crying

Diluc: you had a bad dream?

She nods her head. Unable to say a word from crying so much, she could barely catch her breath

Diluc: shh y/n breathe... you're going to make yourself sick... I'll go get you some water

Diluc gets out of the bed and goes to the bathroom to grab a glass of water. He comes back with the glass, then gives it to y/n. He kneels down at the side of the bed, and places a hand on her leg to comfort her. She takes a sip then looks down in front of her. She is a bit calmer now

Diluc: better?

She nods

Diluc: what happened in your dream?
Y/n: ...it was a handful of things... it just all mixed together into one big nightmare... first there was my mother... then Fumiko... then Childe and Signora... it was like a reminder of everything that went wrong in my life just coming back to haunt me... there was a few other things but it was mainly those things... I just... how do I move on from this?!
Diluc: ... I don't know... but we'll figure it out together...

Y/n looks over at Diluc. She sees how concerned he was about her. She places the glass aside and holds a hand out onto his cheek

Y/n: ... I love you
Diluc: I love you too

He takes her hand and gives it a quick kiss. She smiles at him as he does and he smiles back.

Y/n: now get back in bed before you freeze
Diluc: *chuckles* alright

Diluc gets back into the bed and goes back into an embrace with y/n. He tucks her hair behind her ear and smiles sweetly at her.

Diluc: do you know you have the most beautiful e/c eyes?
Y/n: r-really?
Diluc: yeah... I get so lost in them when I see you
Y/n: *chuckles* you're just being nice
Diluc: no I mean it... I love your eyes... I love your hair, your smile, your laugh... that cute thing you do when you are drawing
Y/n: what cute thing?
Diluc: how you stick your tongue out slightly as you draw
Y/n: I do?!
Diluc: *chuckles* yes... I love everything about you y/n

Y/n blushes and smiles slightly away from Diluc. He then places his hand on her chin and has her look back at him

Diluc: and I love how cute you are when you are shy

She smiles and leans in to kiss him. He closes his eyes and moves his hand towards her neck. And the other onto her waist. He moves her to lay on her back as he leans over her whilst kissing her. She lightly pulls away. Her lips barely touching his

Y/n: there is nothing I love more... then to have you here with me... no one I could ever love more then you... you're my perfect guy... I don't ever want this to end
Diluc: it never will...

Diluc leans back in and continues to kiss y/n. They keep kissing until y/n has calmed down again. He manages to have her fall asleep back into his arms. She then continued to have a peaceful sleep. This time with no nightmares. Diluc saw how beautiful she was as she rested. Only this time he didn't go back to sleep. He wanted to make sure that she did get the relaxing sleep she deserved.
