The Sekai Clan - Chapter 19

Y/n and Xiao managed to get away from Wangshu inn. And find a quiet place to camp out for a while. It seemed to be quite secluded. They are sitting by a small lit fire. They try to keep the flames low to avoid any attention.

Y/n: ... thank you for your help...
Xiao: ...anytime
Y/n: ...why did you help me? Why did you even come with me?
Xiao: I wanted to make sure you were safe... you're my responsibility... I brought you here...
Y/n: ... I'm glad that you did though...
Xiao: why? I don't think people were trying to kill you in your last world...
Y/n: maybe not... but it wasn't a world worth living for... I met people I cared for here... people I can rely on... that number of people only decreased back there... it has only grown here...
Xiao: I'm glad to hear...

They have a quiet moment together. Enjoying the heat from the fire on their skin. Xiao then stands up quickly. And halted to attention. Y/n could then hear rustling in the leaves nearby and also stood up with Xiao, looking around for what could be out there. Out of nowhere men rush into their camp, from every direction, storming in towards them. Xiao and y/n both try to fight them off. But they grabbed hold of them before they could make a move. Xiao tried to reach for his mask. But men take it from him before he could do so and snatch their visions of their person. The clan push them down to the ground, kneeling. Swords are faced towards them in case they both made a move. It was hopeless. The clan had tied their hands behind their backs. They then see high black heels with gold gems on making their way to them. They look up and see Fumiko looking down at them

Fumiko: hello y/n, how have you been?
Y/n: ... Fumiko... what do you want?!
Fumiko: you think I didn't realise who you were y/n?
Y/n: w-what?!
Fumiko: I knew from the moment I met you, you were the girl from a different world...
Y/n: h-how?!
Fumiko: how?! How dumb do you think I am? A new girl in Mondstadt from another world arrives, and not long after I meet you? That's a big coincidence isn't it...
Y/n: then why didn't you just kill me there and then?!
Fumiko: because if I did, it wouldn't have taken long before Diluc figured out who I was... and I couldn't have that
Y/n: so what are you waiting for now?! He isn't here!
Fumiko: that is true... but he is also no longer my fiancé.
Y/n: w-what?!
Fumiko: he broke of the marriage. Wasn't too sure as to why until I realised that he had signs put up for a girl missing who fit your description... and now... now I'm going to claim my reward...
Y/n: just kill me! I know that's what you really want...
Fumiko: oh I do. Nothing sounds more fun to me... except... seeing you watch me and Diluc... be together
Y/n: I won't let you make his life miserable Fumiko
Fumiko: then why don't you stop me?

Fumiko kicks y/n across the face and everything goes black. This brings us back to Zhongli and Diluc outside the winery with shocked expressions on their faces. In front of them they see Fumiko surrounded by members of the Sekai clan.

Diluc: Fumiko y-you're?!- What are you doing?!
Fumiko: oh I just thought we could make a deal? I know how much you like making those

Fumiko gestures over some men to bring over Xiao and Y/n. Xiao struggles to break free of their grip as they stand him to view. As for y/n they push her to the ground and she is covered in bruises and cuts. She looks down to avoid eye contact with Diluc, as she kneels on the ground. Diluc tried to rush over to her but Zhongli has to hold him back

Diluc: WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?!
Fumiko: oh that? Just thought she could do with a makeover?

Fumiko grabs y/n by her hair and raises her face towards Diluc. Y/n had a black eye and more bruises that scattered on her face. Her expression was cold and empty, as if her emotions were lost

Fumiko: don't you think she looks better?
Diluc: ...what do you want?! Whatever it is I'll do it... just let her go!
Fumiko: that's what I like to hear Lucy... and I think you know what I want?...
Diluc: ... fine... I'll marry you...

Y/n tries to get up

Y/n: no! Diluc!!! Don't do it!
Fumiko: he has already had his say sorry...

Fumiko walks up to Diluc.

Fumiko: if you break this deal... I'll kill her...
Diluc: you let them go... or no deal...
Fumiko: hmm fine... take them back to Wangshu Inn

Some men take y/n and Xiao away. As they walk away from the winery, a flaming arrow hits in between the clan and the winery. They all look in the direction it was shot and see Amber, Kaeya, Jean, Aether, and some more of the knights of Favonius, including Lisa and Venti. They are all rushing in towards the clan.

Suddenly there are weapons slashed left to right, and all kinds of different magic been cast upon the area. Soon everyone is fighting. Xiao gets himself free and steals back his vision and mask. He then joins the fight. Diluc rushes over to y/n who is still kneeling down looking at the floor. He kneels down to look at her, he tries to move her head to face him but she shakes his hand off and continues to look away. He looks at her for a brief moment with sadness in his eyes.

Diluc POV

I couldn't stand to see her like this. HOW DARE FUMIKO DO THIS TO HER?! I untie her hands and pick her up even though she tried to break out of my arms. I take her inside the winery so she is safe and sit her on my bed. She still won't look at me...

Diluc: y/n... y/n please... look at me...

She continues to look away from me... I want Fumiko to pay for what she has done to her! I take my sword in my hand and leave the room. This ends now! I walk out of the building and see Members of the clan making their way towards me. I take my flaming sword and use my ultimate to have them all crash down to the ground without me even blinking. I then continue to walk forward slashing men down all around me. I get closer to Fumiko and knock her down to the ground with my sword pointed down at her.

Fumiko: *chuckles* you don't have it in you
Diluc: ... try me

Fumiko saw his narrow eyes staring into her. As his sword got closer to her neck.

Fumiko: I will get her! Maybe not today... but I will...
Diluc: not over my dead body!
Fumiko: ...STOP! Abort!!

All the clan leave and Fumiko goes along with them. Diluc, Xiao, Zhongli and the knights of Favonius, watch as they leave the winery and Mondstadt. Diluc notices y/n's vision was dropped onto the ground by one of the clan and picks it up. Diluc leaves the group and goes back inside. He slowly goes up the stairs to see Y/n still in the same spot he left her. He closes the door behind him. And kneels down to look at her. But she still faces away. He places y/n's vision on the bed beside her.

Diluc: I saw this on the ground... thought you might want it back...

She is still silent

Diluc: ... please... just say something to me... anything...
Y/n: ... you said yes to her...
Diluc: ...I couldn't let you die...

Y/n raises her head to see Diluc. Tears filling her eyes

Y/n: I'd rather have died then for you to be unhappy!!
Diluc: and I'd rather have died then to see you get hurt anymore!!
Y/n: *sniffles* ... then don't hurt me like that...

Diluc thrusts his lips onto y/n's. kneeling up. Grabbing the top of her head. With teary eyes she holds onto him too. Wrapping her arms around his shoulders. Holding each other closer and tighter. Tears start to fall down Diluc's face. y/n kisses him back harder as he does
