A Planned Attack - Chapter 28

Diluc and y/n go back to the room. Y/n goes to a set of drawers. She grabs her night gown and heads to the bathroom

Diluc: what are you doing? Get changed in here
Y/n: umm I was going to have a bath...
Diluc: it's midnight. Just get one in the morning?
Y/n: umm ok... I just need to freshen up anyways
Diluc: oh ok
Y/n: I'll be back in 2 minutes

Y/n walks into the bathroom and closes the door. She carefully takes off her dress. Trying not to make too much movement with her stomach. She grabs the night gown and is about to put it on. Before y/n could do anything, Diluc walks into the bathroom

Diluc: hey y/n, there is a letter here you forgot to take with y-

Before Diluc could finish his sentence, he sees y/n in front of him with a huge red and purple bruise spread across her stomach. Diluc's expression was stroked with fear and concern for y/n

Diluc: what happened?!?!
Y/n: n-nothing!
Diluc: nothing my ass!
Y/n: it really doesn't matter!
Diluc: y/n the bruise covers your entire stomach! What the hell happened?!
Y/n: ... I was just helping Aether with a commission and-
Diluc: commission?! You went back to the adventurers guild?!
Y/n: no! No! I swear I didn't! Aether just needed a hand taking down some hillichurls. So I thought I would help
Diluc: hillichurls did this to you?!
Y/n: no... this thing called a ruin guard came out and attacked us so-
Diluc: a ruin guard?! Y/n those things are incredibly dangerous! You could have been killed!
Y/n: Diluc I swear it's fine! I managed to take it down.
Diluc: you got lucky!
Y/n: no I didn't! I'm not made out of glass! I can take care of myself too! You don't always need to protect me!
Diluc: the hell I don't! Look what happened to you!
Y/n: listen I'm sorry! I really am! I'm sorry I lied! I'm sorry that I wasn't more careful! But I will not apologise for standing up to that ruin guard!
Diluc: ... why are you so stubborn?
Y/n: ...because that's who I am...
Diluc: ... *sighs* I'm not happy you did what you did... but I am glad that you are alive...
Y/n: it's going to take more then just a ruin guard take me away from you...

Diluc grabs y/n into an embrace. He tries not to hug her too tight, so he doesn't hurt her.

Diluc: first thing tomorrow we are going back to the statue to try and fix this...
Y/n: you read my mind...

They continue to hug, Diluc's head resting deeper into y/n's. The next day arrives and they walk towards the statue

Y/n: I'm not sure this is going to work Diluc?
Diluc: why wouldn't it?
Y/n: well last time the injury was a a lot more serious. Where as this time it was all because I wasn't being more careful...
Diluc: I don't think it matters how you got the injury y/n. I think it just sees pain and heels it... just try it...
Y/n: ok...

Y/n kneels down and repeats what she did last time

Y/n: *whispers* please barbatos...

And just like last time the magic swirls around her, causing her hair to float in the air. The magic shoots down to the ground healing the pain. Y/n opens her eyes and no longer feels the pain. Diluc walks over to her

Diluc: did it work?
Y/n: well I don't feel anything... so I think so... as for the bruise... if it's anything like last time it won't be.
Diluc: I'm relived you feel better... now please don't go fighting anymore opponents unless completely necessary?
Y/n: I'll try *smiles*

Diluc kisses her and takes her back to the winery. They head to the study and continue with their work. Everything was good between them. They were happy together and would do anything for each other. No matter what the cost.

1 month later at Wangshu Inn.

Xiao is on the balcony looking out into the distance. He turns around and sees the waypoint glowing. A tall man appears in front of him. It was Zhongli

Zhongli: you wanted to speak to me?
Xiao: yes... you are aware of the Sekai Clan...
Zhongli: of course... why?
Xiao: *sighs* I know what they're next plan is... and I need your help
Zhongli: with what?
Xiao: well I need you to help me confirm that it is their plan...
Zhongli: and what would this plan be?
Xiao: this last month I've been watching the Sekai clan... they're army has only grown... I feel as though they are planning a full attack on y/n again...
Zhongli: when do you believe this will happen?
Xiao: ...tomorrow...
Zhongli: ...how can I help?
Xiao: I need you to come with me... I need to know how big their army is... because if it's too big... we may have to send her back to her world...
Zhongli: you're serious?!
Xiao: ...yes. There are only so many people who can help. If we are out numbered... then she has no chance...
Zhongli: what if she hid somewhere else?
Xiao: it wouldn't matter... it's only a matter of time before they come after her...
Zhongli: ...We are never going to convince her to go...
Xiao: we might not be able to... but Diluc could?
Zhongli: he wouldn't agree to help...
Xiao: he would... because this could be the only way... she can live...
Zhongli: *sighs* lead the way...

They walk out of the Wangshu inn together. After a while they arrive in a hilly area. When they get to the top of one of the hills, they see an area that is walled off. It has towers connected, with members of the clan with archers guarding the entrance. They both look closer and see some fatui members and bandits.

Zhongli: they even have fatui memebers! This means they'll have elementals... they are planning a full attack on her... they obviously aren't taking any chances... we have no choice... y/n doesn't stand a chance... we need to go tell Diluc now!
Xiao: ... agreed...
