The Tsaritsa's Ship - Chapter 45

Childe: the best way for us to get her off the ship is if I distract Signora, while you grab y/n
Diluc: there's just a few issues with that plan
Childe: such as?
Diluc: well how the hell is y/n going to get off the ship without you? Since you kinda have her under your control?!
Childe: well you're going to have to figure that out. I can't tell her to get off the ship. I'm the only one that can distract Signora. I can't sneak off the boat with her. We will be instantly caught.
Zhongli: he does have a point
Childe: you have the potion right? You'll just have to give it to her before you sneak off.
Diluc: *sighs* ok... lead the way fatui
Childe: yeah umm alright. Let's go then
Xingqiu: yeah let's go
Diluc: not you
Xingqiu: what?! Why?!
Diluc: too dangerous!
Xingqiu: you're kidding me right? Do you think they just give visions to anyone?
Diluc: it's already risky enough as it is. I'm not putting a kid into the mix
Xingqiu: tsk fine

Diluc, Childe and Zhongli leave Xingqiu and head to the ship. Once they arrive at the docks, Childe boards the boat, and heads towards the Tsaritsa's ship. He then walks towards the captain's room. He sees signora there sitting at a desk and starts talking to her. Diluc and Zhongli quietly go closer to the boat and look to make sure no one else is above deck. They see that no one is there. As they make their way towards the stairs to take you below deck, Zhongli stays close, keeps a look out as Diluc enters the brig. When he goes inside he looks to see y/n sitting on a hay bed looking towards Diluc

Y/n: sir Diluc. What are you doing here?
Diluc: y-your face... what did they do to you?!
Y/n: oh this? Signora did it to me
Diluc: w-why would she do that?!
Y/n: she thought I was lying to her
Diluc: we're you?!
Y/n: no...
Diluc: I'm going to get you out of here!
Y/n: no! Tartaglia will be back soon!
Diluc: y/n! He is trying to help you escape here! Please we need to go! You need to snap out of this!
Y/n: no! My place is here!
Diluc: please don't make me do this y/n...
Y/n: YOU CANT MAKE ME LEAVE!

Diluc sighs and enters the cell. Y/n tries to back away from him. Diluc then grabs the anecdote vile and tries to get her to drink it. She tries to punch him away. In a quick reflex Diluc snatched y/n's vision off her before she could use her power against him. She starts to try and hit him away. But he grabs her arms. She then falls down onto the ground. Diluc kneels down on her arms to keep her from moving. She tries to move her head away from Diluc.

But he manages to grab her head. He tries to force the anecdote into her mouth. He knew it was something he had to do. Even though he hated to force himself onto her, he knew it was the only way she could be freed. He finally manages to get her to take the potion. He then covers her mouth so she doesn't spit it out.

Diluc: y/n... you need to drink it!

she tries to shake her head in response.

Diluc: please... I need you *tears up*

Y/n stares at him. She sees how much he cared for her. It made her realise that she should trust him. She then swallows the potion and continues to stare back at Diluc. He slowly lifts his hand from her mouth and she begins to loudly cry out. Tears flow down her cheeks as she looks at Diluc

Y/n: D-Diluc?
Diluc: thank Barbatos!

Diluc gets off y/n's arms and she quickly sits ups to hug Diluc, bawling hers eyes out, crying into his shoulder

Diluc: it's ok... I got you...
Y/n: I-I was so scared! I-I'm sorry!!! I didn't want to hurt you!!! I didn't want to hurt you!
Diluc: shhh it's ok... I know you didn't...

He pulls her off and grabs her by her cheeks. Then stares into her eyes

Diluc: you don't have to worry. I'm ok... now let's get you off this fucking ship.

She nods her head. When they stand up, Diluc grabs y/n's hand and they go back up the stairs. They see Zhongli at the top. Y/n and Zhongli hug each other. They were relieved to see each other again. They then quietly leave the boat and run back into the city. They thankfully managed to get away. When they reach to an area out of sight of the harbour they try to catch their breath.

Y/n: W-what do we do now?
Diluc: I think we should get our stuff from the hotel and get you back to the winery
Y/n: I- ok...
Diluc: I just want you to be safe...

They hear someone walking towards them. Y/n looks up and sees that Childe is there. She hides behind Diluc.

Zhongli: it's ok... he helped us
Y/n: but do you know what he did to me?!
Childe: I really am sorry for what I did y/n... truly... I don't expect you to forgive me... my behaviour was unacceptable
Diluc: ... I can't forgive you for what you did to her... but thank you for getting her back to me
Childe: least I could do honestly...
Zhongli: what will you do now?
Childe: nothing I can do really... y/n might be safe but I'm not... I can't leave the Fatui or they'll know it is me who let her go... I have to go with them to Snezhnaya. Might be my only way to see my family. When they realise y/n is missing they might be some consequences for me losing her. But if they know I was the reason she escaped... I'd be surely killed...
Zhongli: I wish you luck Childe... stay safe
Childe: same to you... all of you... I really am sorry it came to this
Diluc: thanks...

Y/n walks up from behind Diluc. She goes up to Childe. She stares up at him, then raises a hand and slaps him across the face

Y/n: that's for using me!
Childe: I deserve that...

Y/n stares at him then wraps her arms around him. Childe looks towards Diluc in shock. Diluc gives a slight nod of approval

Y/n: and that's for saving my life... thank you...
Childe: n-no problem...

Y/n then steps back and links her arm with Diluc's.

Y/n: ... again I don't forgive you for what you did... but I know you didn't have much choice in this... good luck in Snezhnaya
Childe: ...thanks

They all stare back at Childe as he walks back to the ship. Zhongli says his goodbyes to y/n and Diluc then heads back to his office. Diluc and y/n then go back to the hotel and grab their stuff. Afterwards they head to the waypoint and back to the winery
