Taking Care - Chapter 20

Diluc is guiding y/n to the bathroom. She is in a lot of pain as she walks towards the bath.

Diluc: do you need me to help clean your wounds?
Y/n: n-no, it's ok... I can do it...
Diluc: are you sure? You can barely even move?
Y/n: I'll be ok...
Diluc: ...y/n
Y/n: I'm just not ready for you to... see me naked
Diluc: *sighs* I respect that... I just... want to make sure you are ok... I'll give you some privacy
Y/n: ... thank you

Diluc leaves the room and closes the bathroom door behind him. Y/n takes off her clothes and puts them aside. She tries not to make a sound as she does, she doesn't want Diluc to worry. She then carefully steps into the bath, struggling more to not make noise. Diluc could hear her slightly making sounds of pain. He tries not to say anything to her. Y/n carefully grabs a cloth to wash herself but it got even harder to retain her pain. Diluc knocks on the door

Diluc: are you sure you don't want my help?
Y/n: I said I'm fine!!

Diluc could tell by the tone of her voice that she was in a lot of pain cleaning herself. Y/n notices a large cut on her body and tries to gently wash it, but-

Y/n: OOOOWWWWWW!!!
Diluc: that's it! I'm getting you help!!

Diluc rushes down the stairs and finds a female worker to help take care of y/n. He rushes her upstairs and points her towards the bathroom. She goes in and helps y/n to clean her wounds. Once done the worker leaves the bathroom and holds y/n by the arm, guiding her towards the bed

Diluc: ...thank you for your help...
Worker: anytime. Just let me know if you need me to help out again with that. I'll also be willing to go grab some bandages for her.
Diluc: that would be greatly appreciated, thank you
Worker: of course sir...

The worker leaves. Diluc then sits beside y/n on the bed. He grabs her hand in his hands and kisses her on the check

Diluc: ...I'm sorry this happened to you
Y/n: ...it's not your fault...
Diluc: but it is... I shouldn't have put those posters up... you would probably be safe right now...
Y/n: but I am safe... and you were only trying to help me...
Diluc: I didn't do a good job though...
Y/n: stop it!... I was the one who left, I was the one who got caught... I was the one who got in the way...
Diluc: ...you are never in the way... don't ever leave me again...

Diluc is about to kiss y/n but the worker returns back with some medical supplies for y/n. Once she leaves y/n turns to face Diluc, who is now standing aside. She slowly stands up to look into a mirror, Diluc follows behind and wraps his arms around her.

Y/n: guess I've had better days *smiles*
Diluc: even with a black eye... you still look beautiful
Y/n: maybe I should get an eye patch
Diluc: don't you dare, I've already got a weird pirate in my life. I don't need another
Y/n: you think I'm weird?
Diluc: I uh-
Y/n: just teasing

Diluc rests his head on y/n's shoulder

Diluc: at least one of you would make a hot pirate
Y/n: he is hot isn't he? *chuckles*
Diluc: god why you got to tease me like that?
Y/n: who said I'm teasing?
Diluc: you'll pay for that
Y/n: yeah?
Diluc: yeah

Diluc turns y/n to face him and leans over her, setting a kiss on her lips. She wraps her arms around him. He then steps away from her

Y/n: why did you stop?
Diluc: *chuckles* look who's a tease now
Y/n: ...that's cold
Diluc: that's payback

They smile at each other

Y/n: I should probably get some rest...
Diluc: ...yeah... I'll help you lay down

Diluc wraps his arm around y/n holding her so she didn't fall. He then helps her lay down onto the bed. then putting the covers over her.

Diluc: goodnight...

He kisses her on the cheek as he is about to leave but then y/n slowly sits back up

Y/n: wait... can you... stay with me?... just until I fall asleep... I-I don't really want to be alone right now...
Diluc: I'll always stay for you...

Diluc takes off his jacket and throws it to the side. He then gets into the bed with y/n. then he pulls her close to him so she could cuddle up to him. She rests her head on his chest as he puts his arm around her.

Y/n: ...can I tell you something?
Diluc: of course... you can tell me anything
Y/n: ...I'm scared... Fumiko is still out there... I'm afraid of what she is planning
Diluc: I'm scared too... but no matter what happens... she will not win... I won't let her
Y/n: ...but what if she does?...
Diluc: ... just get some rest... you've had a long day... I'll be here for you

Y/n slowly closes her eyes as she holds onto Diluc. She then falls asleep in Diluc's arms, peacefully sleeping on his chest. Diluc couldn't move, even if he wanted to. He just laid there looking at y/n's beauty. He then rested his head back on the pillow staring at the ceiling. He was more worried then he was letting on about Fumiko. He didn't know what to expect from her. But he knew that if she laid another hand on y/n that he wouldn't let her get away with it so easy next time. Diluc continues to stay there for the rest of the night until the sun rises. He didn't want to leave y/n. Not after the day she had.

(I know I said there would be a schedule for the fan-fiction. So every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, and that's still going to be the case. However, this next chapter will be posted a week from today. This is because the fan-fiction will be changed into a mature rated story. There will still be warnings in the fan-fiction, but I don't know fully what guidelines are like so I don't really want the story to be taken down or anything. I'm sorry for any inconvenience you might have with reading this. But this is the direction I want to go with the book, so I hope you understand thank you <3)
