"We have done pretty much a lot of things as of late, but you have left something undiscussed," Yuriel stated one morning in the Prayer Hall.
Due to Matthew being there the other priests and healers-to-be were avoiding this area at the moment and so, Yuriel was free to spend time with him when the others were running away from him as we he was a plague.
"I have heard nothing so far about the one who made me go blind and lose my memories."
Matthew was holding a single candle at the time, about to lit it with the holy fire from the Temple. He could just drop it on the ground with that sudden question. The boy glared at the other Saintess in the hall, implying that she should say something.
Anastasia coughed, "Oh, haven't we talked about that?"
"No, you haven't."
"How...unbecoming of us, indeed."
Anastasia then glared at Matthew as well and now it was his turn to cough.
"You are really curious, Yuriel. To be expected of our generous, kind..."
"Yuri. And stop there. I'm not asking for the usual compliments to be said again. Tell me more about that person."
"..."
"..."
Yuriel's face showed a pleasant, a bit joyful smile as she added, "I've come a bit interested in this particular person."
"I-It's not healthy..."
"Yes, but we can all agree that one should know more about their enemies, right?"
"You've already defeated her. It's ove..."
"Oh, do you think so?" Yuriel asked curiously, cutting off Anastasia.
"Then, that means she's also blind? And perhaps amnesiac? Or at least she must have lost an arm or leg...Or maybe two or three. Because my current state is a bit pathetic, isn't it?"
She tilted her head on one side and sighed, "What? You are left with no words?"
"No, Yuriel, she's..."
"Oh, so, it's indeed she." The girl chuckled.
She had played with them and they had failed to see through her scheme.
"Actually, I see why you are so worried about me. I'm blind and have no memories, thus, no knowledge. And on top of that, I'm even the next Great Saintess. But still, I fail to see why I should hide from the other people in the Temple and know nothing about that greatest threat of the whole world that I have actually managed to defeat."
Matthew swallowed.
"You...We are not hiding anything from you. In fact, we were about to tell you," Anastasia stated.
"Well, I'm listening."
Yuriel crossed her hands before her chest and leaned on the glass wall of the Prayer Hall. She was currently sitting on the floor with closed legs and was visible to anyone from the outside, but there was simply no one.
'I can't even sense their shadows, but I've proven better for the few days I've been practicing sensing other people's presence.'
Which led to the conclusion that...
'They don't come near the Prayer Hall, but...'
But she couldn't sense any other presence besides Matthew's. Were they afraid to come?
But that child didn't seem that dangerous or even scary to begin with. Come to think of it, he was actually quite nice.
"They resent even my shadow, let alone about my presence. That's why since that night the saints and the healers in training have been avoiding me."
