There was time when Hares desperately hid the truth about magic from Syris and so, from the other world. No one knew who were the brains behind the accomplishments of Hares during the last war between the two countries when Iris managed to stop all at last using all her might.
It had been thirty years since the last war but a lot of things happened. Iris, just an adopted daughter of a count with un unknown origins, became an Empress at a time when there was no hope for the Empire. She led the Syrisians to success. It had nothing to do with the war, though. As a ruler she managed to accomplish many things not using force.
And that was the girl who desperately dedicated her life to becoming a knight.
She did that just to change her fate because she had once died.
The first game became known to many before it even ended because of the violation of the rules... Or so it was said.
In fact, it was more of a sensation that two quirkless people had won against a strong earthcontroller than the fact that he had used his abilities.
"There she is! The future Empress just can't escape the spotlight," Tara laughed.
Tasia looked over Noah when she sensed his hand on her shoulder.
"Something wrong, Eli?" She mumbled.
"Reading my mind again, huh?"
Tasia frowned slightly.
'What was that supposed to mean?'
Noah grinned making her frown even bigger.
'Has a stone hit his head because of the incident a while ago?'
"Do you nee..."
He definitely needed help, she thought. But before Tasia had the chance to ask him to be of his help, she was mercilessly interrupted.
'Not again...'
"You have to be lady Scarlet, right?" A dark purple haired girl suddenly appeared before her and took both of her hands. Her smile was brightening her.
Behind her Cassian and another boy were looking at the scene of them – the confused Tasia, the now calm Noah and a very smiling strange girl. Was she her brother's companion?
Anyway, what was wrong with her?
"Tch, you are a marquess' daughter, don't cling onto people like that!" The boy next to Cassian said annoyed.
"Shut up, young duke! I'm not talking to you now!" She was pretty direct, Tasia couldn't deny that.
But... Wait a moment.
'Young duke, she says?'
Tasia's confused thoughts were probably quite a sight because the boy laughed.
"Look, you are confusing her."
"I'm not!"
"You guys, stop," Cassian said and both of them shut up in an instant.
"I'm really sorry for the commotion caused by my party, lady Scarlet," Cassian said to her.
'Oh, do you?'
'Are you that desperate to find out?'
His words sounded like he was having a lot of fun but he controlled his expression too well.
'What a cold assh...' She thought to herself.
'I can hear you!'
'Don't read my mind then, you bra...'
