The afternoon was full of many things that just had to add to the other problems on Tasia's head. Firstly, why did Liliana shave to show up the time when she was in the Silver Palace? It was pissing enough that she had to do some work in the capital covering her tracks because of the duke's shadows that had recently showed some interest in her. And when Tasia was about to admit defeat out of exhaustion, both mentally and physically, the prince served her the news about the so called priestess.

"You are kidding me, right?"

'Oh, god, why is this happening to me?!'

Noah's eyes were full of worry when he looked at her.

"Oh, don't tell me you had headaches again. Did the alcohol from last night affect you, prince?"

He frowned slightly, "You've noticed that I drank?"

"Of course I did. I am your guardian, remember?"

The small bubble that had started to grow in his stomach popped immediately after her response. What was he thinking really?

"Well, everyone knows I'm weak to alcohol."

"That would be the understatement of the century."

Noah and Tasia turned to see Tarik leaving the Palace's estate, heading to their pavilion, where they retired for a while in order to have a conversation alone. Tasia was currently using a soundproof spell and was clearing the shadows around them. Those sly spies of the duke had proven to be quite the annoyance recently.

"Though, if the noblemen knew about that, they wouldn't have offered you something like that in the first place," Tarik added, taking a seat in the pavilion.

"Don't be so sure. We aren't sure if they acted out of mere politeness."

"You think they were her people?"

"It's not impossible. Look, she hasn't gathered enough information for her liking, I'm sure of that, but there is something else."

The two men looked at her and each of them frowned, slightly or more than that.

"It seems the saintess has already found out about me."

It was the third and last day before Cassian was taking the long awaited break from all those stupid aristocratic fashion of being at least five nights in he Greatest festival's ball. Well, he was the prince, but certainly not a god.

'Such an annoyance and there are two days more...'

It was too much even for him, who knew the art of masking his true feelings under indifferent expression.

Though, it was a bit nice to observe Tasia from a distance. The year they were apart he didn't visit her at all, due to his obligations as the only prince of Hares. And both of them didn't want to help in rising the suspicion around them. Tasia was currently at the Syrisian Temple at the capital and were by all means out of suspicion for the moment, but he was under scrutiny by many.

Now that they were together again he understood perfectly the said that people came to realize what they had when they lost it.

More than half of their lives were spent in rivalry and annoyance in their relationship. The two knew that their mother was a twin too and she had a pretty much better relationship with her sibling, Sebastian Felix de Morina, but that wasn't at all like that in their case...

Till the incident caused by Liliana's people in Syris. When Cassian lost his life...

"Hey, you okay, Cass?" A hand poked him on his shoulder and he immediately turned around.
