Tavian was the first from the palace they met. He was introduced to them as their mother's former teacher. To say they were excited would be an understatement. The excitement of being able to study under the same teacher as their mother once had, was immeasurable.

Then there came the legendary Big Trio.

"Dorian, Cassius and Roy."

Tasia burst in excitement at the mere sight of them.

'Do you think they are gods or something?'

'The gods of perfection after mom, of course!'

'Then stop looking at them. They might think you went mad and then they'll... No, come to think of it, do anything you like.'

The simple thought of them rejecting to teach her and him being their only pupil out of them, made him smile both mentally and externally.

It went without saying that Tasia hit him on the head angrily.

The training under the Trio, the lessons given by Tavian and also his instructions for controlling their mana, were of great help for them. They had even begun resembling proper mages by the time the Haresian envoy appeared in Syris.

There was one thing that didn't make sense, though.

"You shouldn't have been there," Cassian said suddenly.

"We were given a private palace to train separately from other people who might see us. But you suddenly appeared there."

This had been a question Cassian had always wanted to ask him but couldn't. Nothing the boy could think of didn't actually make much sense.

"The palace you resided in was the most remote one, but it was still reachable from the other palaces."

"So, you took a little stroll or what?"

It wasn't funny to disturb others at all!

"Liliana found it by chance..."

"...by chance..."

"...but didn't look inside of it. She only told me and Jax about it. I had nothing to do and searched through it one day, but couldn't find anything with my shadows..."

So, the almighty shadow duke couldn't believe his shadows had betrayed him this one time and decided to look into it further.

"...Now I know why." The duke simply stared into his son's stern eyes with no emotion.

"Oh, I've heard you called yourself the shadow king." Sirius suddenly said, receiving all four pairs of eyes directed towards him.

"And you told me to shut up..." Rinea mumbled indignantly.

"Well, back to the story..."

Tasia was alone, practicing archery, when duke Talis appeared at the training grounds of the twins' palace. The monster's form of both of the children wasn't perfect and never would be, but they both were able to use it when something in particular happened. Unlike the previous dukes of Talis, they couldn't transform when angry.

The two had to be completely exhausted, drained from almost any drop of mana in their body.

On that day Tasia had already spent quite much time on the books Tavian had given them as assignment to read and had spent a few hours training mana control. So, she was already pretty much dead tired and all.

Her hair had changed from the onyx black to the silver white and her eyes were ruby red.

No surprise that the duke stopped dead in his tracks when his eyes caught this unique colored hair of the unfamiliar girl and then when she turned around his breathe was caught.
