Healing mana was sacred. So, naturally, it didn't go unnoticed that someone used healing magic without being blessed with it from birth. Suggestion of the sort like lending someone a bit of your healing mana was sinful enough, but...
If there was really someone using healing magic and who wasn't even registered as a light mana user, this person was sentenced with the most severe punishment – death.
It was understandable. After all, this kingdom worshiped the goddess of light, Leya. Lending healing mana to someone else was as if refusing her role as the goddess of creation.
That was why there were no healing spells.
...or so was believed.
Rinea had never been perfect. But she was trying to. Breaking one or two rules to get closer to her goal of being the best was not that much, right?
Better that than lacking in her studies.
So, once she had mastered various invisibility and hiding the presence of mana spells, she had ventured into the Academy library.
In the forbidden section.
And there, indeed, existed healing spells.
That was how she found out she was not talented in healing.
But Gale needed it now the most.
Escaping from the throne hall was not that easy, but the spells she used weren't that incredible. Just a third-class invisibility spell with a fourth class cloning spell, one simple moving spell and nothing more. She really doubted someone in her place would use such elementary level spells – running away from the king while at the same time being in the presence of the best known Spellcaster in Hares?
Shane Arcana was even granted with the title of a Spell Master.
But since she had successfully made the hairs of all present bristle, she wasn't really concerned about that.
Moreover, more problematic was that she somehow used some of her abilities, which proved she was able to break free from Arcana's non-magic area.
The ability of copying someone's affinity...
'But that's not important now...'
Her eyes landed on Gale's pale and haggard face and she gulped.
Healing wasn't her specialty, but she had to give it a try. She had to give her best to make him go through this until they had reached their destination. But still...
Rinea looked around. It was windy, a bit cold and the sun was still shining, making her eyes blink a lot. Their current location was deep into the Silver Forest, a place where most of the queens in the past preferred to spend their time at. But this wasn't where someone of this rank would go. Rinea had managed to teleport them too deep into the forest and thanks to that, she was at least restful that no one would come here even incidentally.
The Silver Forest was named by the first queen, who the Silver Palace was built for. Before that this place was known as 'the Only Winter' in Hares. Here temperatures dropped even below zero during the night. The sun was delusive and once it began its journey when the moon replaced it, this place became a living nightmare that swallowed every fool dared to cross this forest.
And now, since Rinea had no options and was definitely at her limits physically and mentally, she had to think really quickly how to make it out of the forest before the two of them hadn't met their death.
Leo returned in the evening the same day. By the time the two bodies – Rinea's and Gale's, were brought to the mourning hall in the Main Palace. This was a special exception since this place was only for royals. But the king didn't give it a second thought before ordering for them to be moved there.
