Ryan smiled softly at his girlfriend as she gazed lovingly at a butterfly which was gliding through the air. "Have you heard the news?" Her voice snapped him out of his daze, in seconds his face changed from admiration to seriousness. The sickness came down on the humans like a parasite, it had only been a year but millions of people had died. The scientists haven't been able to figure out a way to combat this new enemy yet but they needed to find it soon. He had been contacted by the president, asked to partake in the search as he was a rising name in science.

"What about?" He feigned ignorance, this was the topic of discussion on everyone's lips and not something he wanted to bring up when he was enjoying the little time he had with his loved one. "They found out why people are dying off so quickly. The virus, it targets the brain, it burrows into the body after making sure that the brain is dead. Infected." Ryan shuddered at that, of course he knew what the villain did, he was the one that found it out. It eats away at the person's insides until they were grey and a shell of themselves. Dying out of nothingness, an exterior of skin.

"The person is left with nothing but dead organs." She finished and her eyes looked up at her boyfriend from under her lashes. Ryan faked a small smile as soon as he saw anxiety written all over her face. "Have you been able to see how it spreads?" She inquired. He clicked his tongue and shook his head lightly, "This isn't something you should be worrying about Terresa." Terresa moved her head up from her boyfriend's lap and turned to face him. "Ryan this is serious." Her voice was sharp, concern now overshadowing the love in her eyes.

The man felt his insides churn, something was wrong. As if bigger forces could sense the change, the sky started to darken, clouds swimming to cover the sun's glow.

He examined her face, questions and answers zooming after one another as he waited for the conclusion. Her ruby lips opened and the words that escaped them made Ryan fall. "I'm sick." Terresa watched his reaction to her announcement and frowned when his face showed nothing except panic. "What..." He whispered, fear slipping in his voice. He had to leave, he had to find a way to stop this virus. No matter how many missed days of sleep he'll have, he'll make sure his Terresa never leaves.

"Go home." He commanded and stood up, his face stone. Terresa was quick to follow his movements and stared at him, trying to make him look at her. Ryan couldn't face her, if he did he would break down crying and he needed to keep a level head if he was going to save her. "Where are you going?" She pleaded for him to stay, scared for the future. "Back to the lab. I'm going to find a way to stop this Terresa or at least delay it." His voice gave away no emotions but at least his eyes traveled back to hers.

The raven haired woman placed her hands on his arms and silently gave him strength, "Don't overwork yourself Ryan, what's meant to be will always be." She gave him a loving smile, "No matter how hard you try to stop it."

PRESENT

Terra sat down on a lonely chair by a far corner of the room and leaned back, getting comfortable. Sylvester glanced at her slouched form before walking over to his son, "We need to discuss our deal Sylvester." Her voice made the said man jump slightly, "I am done waiting for you to hold up your end of the bargain."

Ally walked into the room just as that sentence left, leaving her confused and yet intrigued. "What are you on about Terra?" She questioned, walking over to Terra and standing next to her, letting one foot rest on the wall behind her. "He held me captive for a couple of days at his hideout. The only way I was allowed out was if I gave him information and brought him here, now it's time to finally pay up."

A sound of understanding left the white haired girl, "Well then why don't you take a seat." Ally smiled sweetly as she held out a hand towards another chair that was in front of them. Conner eyed the two females with suspicion, they were too alike for him to let his guard down even more. Now that he knew they settled their dispute, if anything were to go wrong they would have each others back without a doubt. So far Terra and him have seemed to come some sort of understanding since they first met but the fact that she heard they were going to trade her for his father's health rubbed her the wrong way.

Sylvester nodded and walked over to the chair Ally had offered, his son following closely behind, his green eyes watching every flinch from the females. "Before we get into it." Terra started just after the elder man sat down, "I need to take this off." She bent over and her fingers wrapped around the metal sheet that still covered her leg. "I've healed plenty enough." The sheet cracked as it was ripped off and a slight clang was heard as it dropped to the ground. Finger tips dented into the object.

Her jean was slightly crinkled because of the enclosed space but that didn't bother her as her eyes came up to the man in the chair. Ally smirked slightly as she glanced down at the man made bandage, "Are you sure you don't need it?" She made fun but Terra didn't react in the slightest.

"I don't need my limbs to make someone cower." Terra's statement made everyone gulp, she was dangerous when she chose to be. Sylvester truly felt fear then as sweat started to form on his forehead, there was no more hiding. "Are you going to start or must I get Mary in here." The raven haired girl crossed her legs as the silence was increased, "Of course there is another option but I think you wouldn't enjoy it too much."
