"We came to an agreement." Ryan lowered his eyes at the group, "All of us need to move into the presidents home and the scientists within his command will test Terra to make sure the sickness cannot be spread." As soon as Conner and the raven haired man whizzed back to the lab they called a house meeting.
"You will be participating with the testing right? You will be safe." Nora asked but didn't wait for the reply and instead turned to Terra and smiled softly to send some type of assurance. "Unfortunately I cannot be a part of it, he fears I might tamper with the evidence and therefore I need to stay far, far away."
Nora's heart fell as a sense of fear washed over her and she walked over to Terra, wrapping her arm around her. "There is another part of the deal." Conner spoke to the silent group, "In payment for your cooperation, he will let the trapped people go. They won't leave the building but they will stop experimenting on them, until Terra's results come out."
Terra sucked in her lips and rubbed them together, her mind imagining different situations and outcomes before her mind came to a blank, "His word...do you believe he will hold true to this compromise?" Ivy asked the question which Terra couldn't seem to get out of her mouth.
Ivy looked over at Terra and frowned at the lost emotions on the girl's face. Ryan's eyes wandered to the ground next to him before letting out a deep sigh, "Whether he will or not, we don't have a choice. If we deny going, he'll order the guards to come here and kill us all."
The hate that the ink haired girl felt for the man deepened, who does he think he is to decide whether they are allowed to live or not. He might think he had some type of power over those left on this land but Terra knew that if he didn't have any of his guards he would be useless. "A plan needs to be made." She voiced her opinion and all eyes examined her.
"Things may go south and we need to have an escape plan." She explained herself. Conner and Zack stared at one another, "Zack and I will think of something." The young adults nodded, shields and teleportation, if they figure out how to work together then it will be a swift and safe escape.
Ivy's hand raised, "I would like to join if that's okay?" Zack nodded and motioned her to come towards them with haste. "Is there anything else you need to tell us?" Tan asked, speaking up for the first time being in the room. Ryan hummed, trying to think of anything he might have missed but he came up short. "No that will be all."
Terra ran out the room as soon as the meeting was defined finished. Nora called out to her in sorrow, poor girl. Tan sighed, "I'll go talk to her." The elderly woman gave the man a stare of appreciation as he went after the person she sees as her granddaughter.

Tan's eyes softened once they caught sight of the female huddled in a corner, his feet slowly carried him over to the girl before he took a seat next to her. The two were quiet for a while but once Tan's arm wrapped around the girl's shoulder, tears started to cascade down her cheeks.
Terra allowed her head to fall on Tan's shoulder as she sobbed softly, "I'll make sure you're safe Terra." He whispered and rested his chin on her head. Her arm hugged his waist, "I swear." Tan finished. The cries got quieter and Terra moved her head away to study the male, "Tan, as far as I know, I'm a lost cause."
"No-" Tan tried to deny but was cut off, "Yes Tan." Terra nodded with a sad smile Terra nodded with a sad smile and removed her arm, letting it fall to her side. "Right now, I am as good as dead. I don't follow the orders given I am dead, I go and I'm probably going to die."
In between them, their hands linked together silently, "If there is such a thing as creators they seem to be determined to kill me. I ran away hoping I could finally be free but I end up being captured and held against my will. Then I had to come back to the place I feared just because I didn't want to be tortured the same way I was before and now guess what?"
A disgusted chuckle left her body, "I'm going to be a captive once more." Tan bit the inside of his cheek, "But the only thing that matters is that those people will be free." Terra unclasped their hands and instead placed hers on his cheek.
"Promise me something." Tan stared deeply into Terra's eyes, "If anything happens to me, promise you'll try and get that president to stop. Promise you'll protect the others." He licked his lips and nodded.
"I promise."
