Conner examined everyone before holding out his hands, "Alright everyone move into a circle and hold hands." The sound of feet scuffing on the ground was heard before they all felt flesh, "Do you have everything?" Conner asked Ryan who nodded, a bag strapped over his shoulder.
With another glance at the bodies, he closed his eyes and in seconds the room was empty, as if no one was there, to begin with. The sensation of teleporting made everyone feel queasy as they touched down in front of a large steel wall.
All of them stared up at the guards who examined them quietly, sizing them up before finally, the sound of a gate opening echoed in the air. Ryan was the first to walk directly towards the entrance, not glancing back to make sure the others followed step.
Nora and Terra eyed each other, the silence between them not disturbing their conversation. Nora wrapped her arm around Terra's, her breathing coming out staggered due to the mask and after a few more ticks the group moved forwards.
Conner quickened his feet to be next to Terra, "When I came here with Ryan something seemed off." He whispered and Terra's head carefully went closer to him, trying not to seem suspicious. "There's a hallway that's blocked off, four guards were standing there." Terra immediately came to the conclusion.
"Ryan gave his first cure to the presidents son. If his son somehow survived then that hallway must be where he is." Terra informed him and Conner nodded, "Do you think he knows about what his father did?" The group studied their surroundings, Ivy and Zack made quick notes of the guards loitering the courtyard.
"There's no way he doesn't," Terra replied as they finally came to a stop. The double gold door carefully opened and a woman with glasses was seen, "Come in." She bowed slightly and moved out of the way. "Do you guys have a plan?" Terra asked in a whisper as Conner and her watched the group carefully tread straight.
"We got it handled Terra, don't worry." Their eyes stayed on one another for a few more seconds, "Sorry but you must come in." The voice of the woman snapped them back into focus and they both did as they were told, Nora tightening her grip.
Once they were inside, the door slid closed with a soft bang, "Please follow me to your quarters and no detours or else you will be shot, on-site." Did this woman forget that she is talking to a bunch of teenagers with powers? Ryan rolled his eyes beneath his mask and shook his head, "Those guards will be dead before they even lift their guns."
A couple of snickers rang through the air at the woman's stupidity and only with a hiss from Nora did they stop. Maria's face heated up once she realized her mistake but instead of acknowledging it, she quickened her pace. Turns turns and more turns later the secretary finally came to a stop in a long and dim hallway.
"Here are your rooms, choose any you wish." Her feet spun to face the raven-haired female, "You." With the call out, Terra stopped in her tracks and glared at the woman, "You're coming with me." Tan sputtered, "Why?" Maria raised her eyebrow, "She will need to be contained and in return, the test subjects will be released. That was the deal, no?"
"Yes but-" Tan was cut off by Terra shaking her head, "Okay." Terra said calmly as she removed Nora's hand and stepped towards Maria, "What are we waiting for?" The young female had already accepted her destiny and her destiny she decided was to save as many people as she could, even if that meant killing herself in the process.
"Later on in the evening you all will be called for dinner but before then, please stay within your rooms. If you are caught wandering the halls, you will be shot as I said. This way." Terra took one last glance at her friends before following suit.

The heels of feet tapped against some stairs as two women walked down. "This is our very own lab." Maria looked at the girl behind her, "With the notes from your father we have been able to make more capsules of the cure." Proudness slipped from beneath the woman's tongue which caused Terra to boil.
"I assume since you have my father's notes, you know that the cure doesn't seem to work on adults." "There have been a few fatalities yes, but most seem to be dealing with it quite well." Terra shook her head in disbelieve, "Don't you feel any type of sympathy for them at all? They are suffering for something that you guys know is not a hundred percent reliable." Maria's face didn't flinch, "Nothing is reliable in the beginning."
It was left at that, the two returned to silence as they continued their journey. Terra knew she was speaking the truth but it didn't make it any less wrong, people were getting hurt, involuntary. They never signed up for the pain of Earth's revival and they never gave up their bodies, they were taken against their will. The anger that was carefully coating Terra was growing stronger and fiercer with every new information and day coming her way. It will only be a short time before it snaps and she definitely wouldn't stop it.
She's somewhat glad they are encasing her, an evil smile lit her face, she's been hiding one little thing.
