I wanted to make you proud,
To be the person you wanted me to be
The beautiful intelligent powerful woman you deemed me to be.
But you left without a trace
It was as if you never existed,
I wasn't even there when they put you under,
I wasn't there to make you proud.
That day you took your last breath
I lost my friend, My motivator.
The man who wasn't my father,
But I looked up to you
I strived to be like you.
I didn't get the chance to tell you how you just being in my life made me a better person.
You wanted me to be better,
To make you and my parents proud.
But I've let you down big time,
Cause I don't think I can do this without you.
Your angelic smile and laughs made me happy,
Your sarcastic comments made life seem worth living.
But you are in a better place now,
The earth lost a good man but heaven gained a beautiful soul.
