ROSES (POEM 94)

You remind of roses,

So beautiful,

So, intoxicating,

You never know what to expect,

I never suspected you to come with thorns,

I was blinded with love,

As the thorns plunged through my skin,

The blood surging through my mouth as I struggled to breathe,

Yet I loved you regardless of all of that,

I wanted to fix you,

Even though I myself needed mending,

In the end I fixed you,

And you forgot all about me.
