I don't think parents understand
How much their opinion's matter,
How much their words sting,
How much they've broken their children just with a,
"YOU'RE UGLY"
"YOU SHOULDN'T BE HERE"
"I WISH I ABORTED YOU"
"THEY MUST HAVE SWITCHED YOU AT THE HOSPITAL".
Those are just a few of the things they say that hurts.
How could they even look at an innocent child and tell them their nothing?
Don't they understand the pain of being a child?
When your trying so goddamn hard to impress your parents,
But there's always something more you can do, something you didn't do.
Something that they end up shouting at their children for
making them feel insecure; worthless.
Most parents think because their child acts a certain way,
They have an attitude but they're wrong.
They're the same people who turned their own children into monsters who feel no pain because their mom and dad already broke them, already made them numb.
So when someone else repeats it they just shake their heads,
Probably just saying," I KNOW" OR " YEAH BUT I DON'T CARE"
It gets worse every generation
Our own parents broke us before any boy or girl ever could.
So are children really responsible for what they've become when they've been broken by the people that should be protecting them from hurt and telling them they can do anything and that theyre eautiful or handsome?
