Chapter 4

Karas POV

It has been 3 days since I spoke with Alex about adopting Jo, Lena thinks it's a great idea and I knew she would, I only have one problem. I need to find a bigger place. My apartment only has my room and that's it,

I was throwing ideas off with Lena as she was helping me house hunt when she said something,

"Why don't you just move in with me?" She asked then her face got red,

"Lena I can't do that" I say

"Why not? I have four bedrooms, the penthouse is way too big for just me anyway, plus I would have a reason not to stay at the office all night if it meant I got to see you and Jo" she says and I smile, is this something we could do? I don't know it seems complicated

"Kara? I know you're thinking but I can't read your mind" she chuckles

"Are you sure? Like 100% sure? This is a lot Lena and I don't want to mess up our friendship" I say and she smiles

"Of course I'm sure Kara, I love you, you're my best friend," she says and I smile, she does love me, but as a friend,

"Okay" I say hesitantly

"Great! I can send some movers over to get your things and we can go shopping for a bed and everything for Jo!" She says excitedly

"Okay" I chuckle

"You really are a dork" I laugh

"Yea, but you love me" she smiles

"I do" I smile back, and left the things on my desk as Lena and I walked out of Catco,

"What all do we need?" She ask me

"Oh I don't even know, I'll buy her a bed for now and when we get her I can take her clothes shopping and for other things" I say and she frowns

"Kara let me handle it" she says

"No Lena absolutely not, I'm not letting you pay for that, this was my idea and I'll take care of it" I say

"Kara, I'm the CEO of a billion dollar company, I have so much money I don't know what to do with it, please let me do this for you and Jo" she says

I don't like the idea of her paying for everything, it doesn't seem right

"Kara...... you're not alone on this, I want to be there every step of the way, that includes buying things and you're going to have to let me" she says and I sigh

"It feels wrong taking your money Lena"

"You're not taking it, I'm giving it to you" she smiles

"Please Kara?" She says and I sigh

"Okay, if you're really okay with it" I say and she smiles

"Of course!" She says happily,

We got all my stuff moved into her penthouse, our penthouse I guess,

"It looks so much better in here, before it was empty but now it's homey, thank you kara" Lena says giving me a hug

"Ready to go get Jo?" I ask excitedly and she nods

Josephines POV

I just finished another long day of school and studying and it was almost dark so I was walking back to the orphanage, only this time there was a car out front, I'm going to be in so much trouble, I sigh and walk through the door

"Josephine!" I hear Ms.Nancy yell and I slowly turn around and Lena and Kara are both standing there

"You are supposed to come right back after school" she says and hits the back of my head

"Hey!" Lena and Kara both say at the same time

"It's fine" I sigh

"No it's not, you have no right to put your hands on these kids like that" Lena says

"They are under my care, I do what I want and they need to learn discipline" Ms. Nancy tells them

"There are so many more ways of disciplining kids" Kara scoffs

"Whatever do you want her or not?" Ms. Nancy ask

Want me? Why would they want me

"Of course" Kara says and smiles at me

"What's going on?" I ask

"Well, we actually came here to get you," Kara explains

"Is that okay?" She ask.

"Um sure?" I say more like a question and they nod and continue signing papers while I say goodbye to the other kids

"Don't worry, I'll be back, you know they never keep us long" I say and hug them one more time before going down with Kara and Lena

"You ready?" Lena ask and I nod  following them outside, I don't have much, just two sets of clothes and a toothbrush, Lena opens the door for me and I get in and buckle my self up

"Are you hungry?" They ask and I shake my head, no way am I going to be needy when they first got me, I learned my lesson last time

"Well I'm starving" Kara says and we pull up in front of a fast food restaurant and they order a bunch of food, when they get the food Kara hands me a bag,

"You didn't have to do this" I sigh

"We wanted too, now eat up we have a big day tomorrow" Kara ask and I nod, they don't have to tell me twice

As I was eating we pulled up to this huge buildingX

"This is where you live?" I ask

"Yep" Lena smiles and we get out and she hands her keys to some guy to park the car and we walk inside, they lead me over to a private elevator and it takes us to the top floor, I follow them out of it while Lena unlocks the door and we walk in

It's huge and modern, the walls are white with black appliances, the living room was cozy and family like, this part must have been decorated by Kara,

"This right here is my room, that one down there is Karas and yours is right here" Lena explains

"You don't sleep in the same room?" I asked and they gave me a confused look

"Oh I'm so sorry I thought you were a couple" I say and look down at my feet

"No" Kara chuckles

"We are just really good friends" she explains and I nod

"So did both of you sign the papers or just one?" I ask them

"We both did" they say and I nod as Lena gave me the rest of the tour and stopped in front of the room I would be staying in

I open the door and was amazed, it was everything I could ever ask for, it was beautiful, there was a huge bed with a pink and blue confronter on it with another smaller blue blanket, the room also had a white desk and a little hanging chair in the corner, it also gave me a good view of the city

"You did this for me?" I ask in disbelief

"Of course we did, we want you to feel welcome here" Lena says and I hug them both

"Only thing we are missing Is your clothes and a few other things, we didn't know what style you liked or your size, so tomorrow we are going shopping!" Kara says excitedly and I laugh

"There's that beautiful smile" they say and I blush looking around my new room again,

"We stayed up and watched a movie before it was time for bed, they both came in and said goodnight and kissed my forehead before shutting the door,

Maybe this won't be so bad after all, just maybe
