Chapter 8

Josephines POV

I woke up again with the sun shining through the window and despite everything I tried I couldn't go back to sleep,

I was dreading the talk, I knew they wanted to talk about last night,  and I was completely dreading it, I got up anyway and and walked out of my room to see them both talking and drinking coffee at the table

"Good morning"  Kara smiles

"Good morning" I say and Kara pulls out the chair next to her and I sit down looking at them both

"I'm sorry" I start

"We know" Lena says

"And I'm sorry for what I have been told, being intimidating last night. I wasn't mad I was just worried" Lena explains and I look down playing with my fingers

"Hey" Kara says and I look up at them both again

"I think, maybe it will be a good idea to go over some rules?" Lena says and I nod

"Good" she says

"I think first off is no sneaking out, I understand you were upset but come to Kara and I, we just want to help and love you" she says

Love me? Why would anyone want to love me? I'm useless

"Okay" I reply

"Also the phone, it's yours. You can do whatever you want with it as long as it's appropriate" Kara says

"I think another big one is respect, just be respectful which you already are very respectful" she smiles

"Honestly I think that covers it, just do your best in school, and if your hungry or thirsty at anything help yourself at anytime, you don't have to ask" Lena says and I smile

That's new,  all of theses rules are nothing I have ever had, a lot of the ones I am used to are like I have to stay in my room all day, no leaving, we
Weren't allowed to eat unless told we could,

"Are these okay?" Lena ask and I nod

"Yea they are" I say and she smiles

"Am I allowed to go walk around? I like to stop by the parks" I say gently so they wouldn't get mad

"Yea of course, just let us know and be back by 5 for dinner" Kara says and I smile,

Karas POV

Jo seems okay with the rules, I mean they aren't even really rules but still.

She wanted to go out so she is going to the park now,

"Hello" Lena says sitting down next to me on the couch

"Hey" I smile, and Alex walks in the door

"Kara!" She yells and sits down on the other side of me

"What?" I ask

" I need advice" she says

"And this is my que to leave, I'm going to stop by the office" Lena says and walks out

"Advice with what?" I ask

"With Sam!" She exclaims

"I like her a lot and I think she likes  me and we went on a date and I want to ask her on another one but she has no one to watch Ruby, oh Kara what am I getting myself into?" She sigh and I laugh

"It's not funny!" She says

"Okay Okay, I think that Sam is wonderful and so is
Ruby, we can keep Ruby Friday night and she can have a sleepover with Jo"  I tell her

"Really? Thank you Kara" she exclaims and hugs me

"Now I have to go call Sam, I love you" she says running out the door

"Love you too Alex" I chuckle and turn back to the tv,

Not long after Jo walks in and sits down with me on her phone

"Did you have fun?" I ask and she nods

"Yea," she says

"What's your favorite movie?" I ask her

"Um I really like the Wizard of Oz" she says

"Me too! It's my favorite" I exclaim and she smiles and Lena walks in

"Let me guess, you told her you liked the Wizard of Oz, or potstickers? I could hear you in the hall" Lena laughs

"The wizard of Oz I have never had potstickers" jo answers

"What!? Never had potstickers?" I say surprised

"Lee can we get potstickers for dinner?" I ask with a pouty face

"Of course, call and order them" she says and I jump up and order the food,

45 minutes later we got our food and Jo was in love with Potstickers

"This is so good!" She says

"I told you" I smile and Lena shakes her head

"Lena would rather eat kale" I say disgusted

"It's good for you, you have the diet of a 5 year old" she says

"Kale just looks disgusting" Jo laughs

"Its not, want to try it?" Lena chuckles

"No I'm good, thank you though" Jo smiles and we finish eating our dinner,

"So um, am I supposed to call you guys mom?" Jo ask us

"No, we don't expect you too, we're basically still strangers, if one day you decide too then that's fine too, it's whatever you are comfortable with" I tell her and she smiles

"Thank you both for making me feel safe" she says and hugs us both,

"And we always will" Lena replies

"Why don't you go and get ready for bed, you have school tomorrow" I say and she groans but walks back to her room

"Oh I almost forgot to tell you," I say talking to Lena

"Ruby is going to spend the night on Friday" I tell Lena

"Okay, Sam and Alex have a date?" She smirks

"Yea" I laugh and we sit down on the couch,

"I'm going to shower" I say and she nods

"Yea me too"'she says and we both go to our rooms to shower,

Once I was done I went to check on Jo and Lena walked in right behind me

"You ready for school?" Lena ask

"I don't like it, I'm good at it but I don't like it" she says and Lena smiles

"That's how I was" Lena says

"Well you have to get up early so we should get going to bed" I say and she nods getting under the covers

"Goodnight Jo" we say and kiss her head and go back to our rooms

"Goodnight Kara" she says walking past night

"Goodnight Lee" I say and get into my bed,

Today was a good day
