Chapter 5

Josephines POV

The next morning I woke up with the sun shining in the room, it was nice but then I panicked, Ms.Nancy told us that it was a sign of respect and we needed to be awake before the adults,

Dammit I cursed myself and quickly got out of bed in hopes Kara and Lena were still asleep but I knew they weren't,

Kara was drinking coffee and Lena was making breakfast

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sleep so late I really apologize please don't be mad" I say covering my face, this would usually be the time I would get hit but that didn't happen

"Jo, what are you talking about hun?" Lena ask me

"I was supposed to be up before you, it's a sign of respect and I'm sorry I wasn't" I say and wipe my eyes

"We don't expect you to be up before us, we are early risers." Kara explains

"But Ms.Nancy said that we always needed to be awake before adults" I explain and Kara comes over and hugs me

"That's not the same here, I promise." She says

"Are you sure?" I ask

"Positive" she smiles and leads me over to the table with her,

"Breakfast is done" Lena says making our plates and sits down with us

"Thank you" I say and start eating my breakfast,

I ate most of it but from not eating at all, to a lot these past 2 days is not settling with my stomach,

I don't think I can eat the rest but I know if I don't I won't be able to eat for a few days

"Jo hunny if you're full you don't have to eat it, you can have more when you're hungry again" Lena says and I nod excusing myself from the table

Lenas POV

Jo just went back to her room and Kara and I were cleaning up the kitchen

"I feel bad for her" I say quietly,

"She looked terrified this morning" I say

"Yea I know, me too, hopefully she will get used to it not being the orphanage, also I need to ask my boss for a week off" Kara says and i smile

"Hmm you might want to submit a paper with no less than 10 thousand words on why you want off" I chuckle

"Wow Lena" she laughs

"I'm just kidding, I'll let Cat know, I can reschedule some meetings but I won't be able to with all of them" I tell her

"You don't have to reschedule any" she says and I nod

"But I want too, and now we better go get dressed to go shopping, on which I am paying" I say and she frowns but walks away

After the three of us get ready we head to the mall, after a few stores and much protest from the both of them about me buying them things,

Jo got some jeans, leggings, sweat pants and some shorts, along with t-shirts, some long sleeve and a couple dress tops. She got some dresses and a couple hoodies and a few pairs of shoes, plus some pajamas, we also took her to get some underwear and bras and she was as red as a tomato the entire time, she now has a bunch of clothes though,

Kara ended up getting a couple pairs of jeans and blouses,

I also picked up a few dresses and 2 new suits,

Our next stop was bath and body works to get all of Jos shower things, she picked out a few different scents and we bought them and headed out for lunch

"Thank you Lena" she says

"Oh you're welcome, if you ever want anything just ask" I say and she smiles

We finished lunch and I had one more stop to make, I ran into an electronic store and walked out with a new iPhone and MacBook for Jo, I never had anyone I could spoil so now is my chance

"Lena I can't accept this" she says

"Non-sense, the MacBook you will use for school I'm sure and the phone, well you need a way to contact Kara and I" I explain and she smiles and nods looking at her new phone,

Kara reaches over and puts her hand on mine and smiles

Karas POV

We were just minutes away from the penthouse and Alex had messaged me wanting to meet Jo,

"Hey Jo" I say

"Yea?" She ask

"My sister wants to meet you, wondering if tonight would be a good time or if you wanted to wait" I ask

"She can come tonight" she smiles and I nod as we pull up to the building,

Lena has someone carry our bags up and I text Alex back

After our bags are in the house I help Jo put some of her things away and then my own,

Next I help Jo set her phone up and program it with a couple numbers she might need,

"You guys have a lot of friends" she says

"Yea we do, and they are all excited to meet you" Lena says

"So what school do you go to?" I asked. On our shopping trip we had picked her up some more supplies

"National City High" she replies

Lena starts making dinner because we all know I can't cook, Jo and I were watching some Tv when Alex comes in

"Don't you knock?" Lena ask her and she shakes her head

"You stole my baby sister so of course I don't knock, I also expect a key,"Alex says

"Hey Kara" Alex says walking in and sitting down on the opposite couch

"Jo this is my sister Alex, Alex this is Jo" I say and Jo shyly says hi

"You're really pretty"Jo says

"Thank you" Alex smiles

"Alex is in the FBI" I tell her

"That's really cool" she says

We spent the rest of the night talking and laughing during dinner until it was time for Alex to leave, after Alex left we all took showers and was getting ready for bed, I walked in Jos room and she was struggling with her hair

"Can I help?" I ask she she nods and I sit down on her bed and pat a spot for her to sit, I put her hair in two French braids

"Thank you" she says and I kiss the top of her head

"You're welcome" I say and she gets under the covers and Lena comes in to say goodnight

"Goodnight Jo" we both say and turn her light off and close her door,

" we did it. Made it though one full day" Lena says and holds my hand

"Yea we did" I smile
