Chapter 15

Karas POV

The next morning Lena and I were up at 6 as usual, we still had work which brings up the question on what we are going to do with Emery.

"Coffee?" Lena ask and I nod as she hands me a mug,

"We're not actually making her go to school are we?" Lena and I shrug

"No, we also need to call someone to get Emery of the home she is in but I don't know what to do beyond that point" I sigh

"Yea I know what you mean," Lena says

"Do you think it's something we can do?" She ask

"What? Take Emery in too?" I ask and she nods

"I don't know Lena, I have my job and you stay late all the time and she is too young to stay by herself and I don't think I can bring her to Catco with me like I do Jo" I say

"What if I make sure not to work late, I mean I can work from home some nights, I just- don't want to have to separate them" she says

"I know, I know" I say and Jo comes out of her room. Lena had just ordered breakfast today since we were too tired to actually make it,

"Breakfast is almost here," Lena says and she nods and a minute later little footsteps are heard and Emery comes out to Jo

"You don't have to go to school today, you can go back to sleep after breakfast if you want" I say and she nods as Emery yawns

"How old are you?" I ask the younger girl

"Seven" she replies and I nod

"What grade are you in?" I ask

"Second" she says and rubs her eyes while Lena gets the breakfast once someone knocks on the door, I texted Alex and she is going to come watch the kids while Lena and I go out and figure out what to do,

After we ate Jo helped clean up and Alex knocked on the door

"Alex hey, thanks for doing this" I say giving her a hug

"Yea of course" she says and walks in

"We have to meet the lawyers in an hour, oh hey Alex" Lena says coming out of her room in a burgundy suit, perfect like seriously perfect. I may have stared a little too long because Alex nudged me and had a smirk on her face

"Jo, Emery come out here please" Lena says and both girls comes out

"Alex is going to stay with you both while Kara and I talk to some lawyers, Jo is supposed to be grounded but you're hard headed and I know you won't enforce it so don't worry about that" Lena explains

"Yea, I'm the cool aunt Lena come on" Alex says and she playfully rolls her eyes

"Okay, we have to go. Be good for Alex" I say and kiss both of their heads as Lena and I head to L-Corp

"Ah Ms.Luthor. It's nice to see you again, although under odd circumstances. Your complaint doesn't have to do with L-Corp so a bit questionable on why you called us in" one of the says

"Do you want to get payed or not?" She ask bluntly. Lena working and in charge is like extremely hot, I shouldn't say that but it's true!

"Okay let's get to it then" the lawyer says and Lena and I both sit down

"You want to petition to remove Emery Hope Fallon from her current foster home?" They ask

"Correct, she is being abused in said home" Lena explains
