Introduction

Josephines POV

"Josephine do not go out that door!" Miss Nancy yells at me,

"Goodbye !" I yell back and keep walking to the door

"If you walk out that door you are not getting any dinner" she yells back

"Wouldn't be the first time" I say and walk out the door and down the street, there is a tree that I climb to get away from everything,

Maybe I should introduce my self

I'm Josephine but the kids back at the orphanage call me Jo, I don't have any friends. Every time people would try to get close to me I would cut them off, it's embarrassing living in the orphanage and I can't let anyone else know about it,

I'm 14 now and have been living in the orphanage for 2 years, I went into foster care when I was 9 and bounced around from home to home until I was almost raped in my last home and they blamed me for it and put me in the orphanage with Miss. Nancy.

She runs it and there are 5 other girls in there, she will go days without feeding us so we only have the chance to eat at school, the amount of beatings I have endured are unimaginable, she gets drunk and beats on kids. It's her hobby,

My parents were also abusive, well mostly my dad, he would get drunk and hit on us, I had a little sister but we got separated and I haven't seen her since, she's 7 now and I'm sure she doesn't even remember who I am.

Now don't get me wrong, I had the best mother for the first like 7 years of my life but she got into Drugs and would leave me alone with my sister. Emery. I haven't seen my parents since I went into care, I just have to survive the next 4 years and I can get myself a life I deserve,

I spent the next few hours up in that tree before walking back to the orphanage,

"Jo" Maya whispers when I walked in, she's 7 and reminds me so much of Emery

"Hey" I whisper and take her hand as we walk back up to the room with her with the other girls

"Where do you go when you leave?" Another one ask me

"Just down the road" I say

"But Miss. Nancy hurts you a lot" they frown

"It's okay, I'm okay" I assure them and they nod,

I'm the second oldest, Riley is 17 and is aging out next month, she isn't the nicest and always yells at me when I run,

Karas POV

Lena and I were having lunch today in her office like we do everyday, we were really close friends and loved spending time together, she was the CEO of    L-Corp and me? Well I was just a reporter for Catco Magazine, Lena actually bought the company I worked for, for me, I loved her, she is my Bestfriend.

"Hey Jess" I tell her assistant and she lets me into Lenas office,

"Kara, hey" she smiles and stands up from her desk and walks over to me,

"I even brought you an extra kale salad because I know you won't go out for dinner" I tell her and she smiles

"Thank you Kara, you didn't have to do that" she says
