Chapter 26: To the Future

Mamoru POV

"Rini hold my hand, we don't know when we might encounter an enemy."
Just as we walked forward a few steps, a fog started settling in.
"I can't see anything!"
"Mercury, can you figure something out?"
"I'm trying but I can't find the source of the fog!"
I squinted my eyes to see a figure guarding a door.
The figure quickly moves through the fog. I heard the screams of the girls and tried to protect Rini.
The figure is moving towards us, 'I have to protect her, I won't lose her too.'

"Puu!"
Rini lets go of my hand and starts running to the figure.
I quickly chase after her, only to find myself relieved.
"Lady Pluto, it was you."
The fog disappears just as Rini hugs her.
"Small lady, I'm so glad you're safe!"

She then bows to me, "My prince, It's so nice to see you again."
Rini looks at me confused, "You're a prince?"
"I was in the past...and apparently I'll return to my throne soon."
"So cool! Maybe you can meet my dad as fellow kings!"
'Oh, Rini~ if only you knew.'

Pluto laughed, "Small Lady that is impossible."
"What why?!"
"Well, how can a person meet himself?"
"What do you mean?"

Jupiter, who's recovered before the rest of the Ladies spoke up, "It all makes sense now. The reason Lady Moon and Tuxedo Mask are so protective over you; you're their future daughter."
Rini looked up at me, "You're my dad?"
I nodded my head, "Usagi and I knew who you were the moment we saw you. But we couldn't tell you that we knew, we didn't want to affect the future by telling you."
"Then what changed now?" She asked.
Pluto answered her, "The future has changed, but we'll have to see how much. It could change for the better or the worse."
"Pluto, it can't get any worse than now."
"That is true, but remember Queen Neo Serenity is invisible."

Jupiter nods her head, "It's no wonder you have so much pure energy in that small body of yours. Not to mention you resemble Usagi so much."
The others start to wake up, "Keep it a secret for now."
Everyone nodded their heads.

"So, can you take us to where Lady Moon is?"
"Yes and no. I can take you to the palace, but not directly to her. She's trapped in the black moon's hideout."

The ladies walked up and gathered around us.
"Do you think we'll meet the future us?" Venus asks Pluto.
"No, they've fallen asleep due to overusing their powers."
"Then who's protecting the palace now?" Luna asked.
"The four Ladies: Mars, Venus, Jupiter, and Mercury, your future selves are still maintaining a barrier using their planet power."

'So they really haven't upgraded to crystal power....' I thought to myself.
"Wait, what about Lady Moon, you haven't mentioned her yet."
"Lady Moon no longer exists in the future."
Mars stepped up, "That's not possible. Lady Moon is our princess."
Pluto shook her head, "Not anymore. Small lady, or rather Rini, is now."

Rini hid behind me, even she could sense the hostility and confusion pointed towards her.
"I won't accept that. Lady Moon is our princess, friend, and leader. A future without her has no future."
Mars narrowed her eyes, "Isn't that why the black moon has taken over the future? Maybe this Neo Queen Serenity isn't that strong?"

Rini yelled at Mars, "Don't talk bad about my mommy! And I don't see why you're all so stupid. How is it that the past version of my parents recognized me instantly, while my guardians don't?"
I hugged her, "Rini, you need to calm down."
"No, daddy! Jupiter even said it herself, I resemble Usagi so much!"
Mercury gasped, "Rini, are you! You're the princess of the future!"
My adorable daughter's pouting face disappears, "It's about time you make the connections!"

Mars looked at Mercury for an explanation, "Rini just called Mamoru 'daddy'. Meaning that if Rini is the princess, and Mamoru is her father- then Mamoru is the King. And we all know that our prince only has eyes for one person."

Venus let out a high-pitched scream, "Which means that Usagi is the future Queen Neo Serenity! Rini is the daughter of our prince and princess!"
I coughed loudly, "Can we please get to the reason why we're here?"

My heart broke at the thought of Usagi being kept, prisoner.
At the mention of my love, Pluto quickly explained what to do, and opened the time gate.
"No matter what, don't let go of each other!" She screamed as we passed the gate.

Usagi POV

I'm resisting with all my strength; reminding myself that Mamoru and my friends will come to save me.

"Why don't you give up and see, your precious people have betrayed you. Your prince will forget about you and will marry another Lady. Your daughter will call that Lady her mother, and you will be betrayed and forgotten."

"You're wrong! They will come for me."

"No, you're wrong. It's been hours since you've been captured by Prince Diamond. You're still here, and you haven't been able to reach your prince with your so-called bond."

"That's because of that black crystal you've created this place with. Not to mention you've been flooding my system with negative energy!"

"And yet, you're still the princess of the Silver Moon."

"What were you hoping for, a princess for the Black Moon?" I asked sarcastically.

"Actually, I was hoping for the birth of Black Lady; the future Queen of the Black Moon."

"In your dreams! Do you think we've only been busy protecting the past? Think again, we've already found out about your plot Wiseman! You've been using Prince Diamond!"

"So? He's just a prince who's fallen in love with the future you. He's nothing but a puppet!"

In that brief moment, Diamond attacked from his hiding spot.
"So it really is true, Wiseman!"
"Do you really think you can defeat me? I'm the one who gave you those powers, so I can take them away as well!"

Wiseman absorbs all the energy in Diamond's body, "NO!"
I force my crystal to save his soul, "Imperial Silver Crystal, heal him and restore his powers as a member of my kingdom!"

With the last burst of energy, I used the crystal to teleport us as far as I could.
In my hands, a white star seed sparkles.
Releasing it, Diamond returns. But this time, he has the same crescent moon as I do. The very same one that Rubeus, the Four Sisters, Sapphire, and Emerald have received.

He helped me back up, "That was reckless! We were in the black crystal palace, and you were filled with negative energy. Just how did you use the Silver crystal?"
I smiled weakly, "Never underestimate the power of pure will and the Silver Crystal."

The next thing I knew, I blacked out.

Prince Diamond POV

I caught Lady Moon as she fell unconscious.
"You saved me, and my entire clan. I am now under your debt, one that I can never repay. But let me start by bringing you back to your love."

I use my powers to teleport us to the front of the Crystal Palace. There, I knocked on the barrier.
"Who are you, and how did you get your hands on my princess?" A lady wearing a gray uniform asked me.
