Chapter 35: Mercury and Uranus vs Nanobots

Mercury POV

'Lady Moon paired me with Uranus but, she doesn't really act like I'm her partner. She runs faster than me, making me use more energy just to catch up to her.'

Al of the sudden, I can sense some kind of electric wave. I warn Uranus to stop, which she does.

"What do you sense?"

"Someone is hiding here, or they've laid traps using electric waves."

Uranus is clearly unhappy, "I have to fight a coward who only knows how to hide, just great."

"She won't be able to hide for long. I'll track the waves to find their source. The source should be on our opponent."

"Well, hurry up."

I hold in my frustrations. We're on the same team. We may not get along but, we need to learn to respect each other and to work as a team. That's what it means to be a professional team worker and, what Usagi would like us to do.

I turn on my mercury computer, and lead the way. When all of the sudden, we are ambushed by tiny insect like bots.

"Uranus...World Shaking!"

"Mercury...Aqua Rhapsody!"

"That won't be enough to defeat my nanobots!"

The white haired witch introduced herself to us, "My name is Vliuy, one of the five witches. For you foolish ladies who believe in love, I'll bring you out of your misery!"

My mercury computer shows me that she uses her bracelet to control her nanobots. Relaying the information to uranus, I move to freeze all the nanobots swarming her.

"Uranus...world shaking!"

Vliuy manages to dodge it, and laughs at us.

I whisper to Uranus, "she may have dodged it but, your attack damaged her bracelet. If we taunt her to use it again, the nanobots might turn against her."

"That's something I'm good at~" Uranus says as she smirks.

"You say we're foolish for believing in love? You're the one's who are foolish for not knowing what love is. You don't have anyone who loves you, nor do you know what it is like to love someone either. I pity you~" 

However, rather than being taunted, she smirks in response.

"That's what you say now but, wait until you're betrayed by the ones you love. I pity you."

This time, Uranus and I both get angry.

"Since words don't work, we'll just have to physically force her!" I said while glaring at Vliuy.

Uranus raises a brow at me, "You weren't the type to be physically aggressive before...at least not from what I heard...."

"I can't be the only one who doesn't know how to be physically offensive. Not to mention, I don't want to be burdensome just because I'm the physically weakest. It doesn't mean I'm not a fighter, so I asked Jupiter to train me."

"How far are you along with your training?"

"I managed to get a few hits in with Jupiter."

"Then I'll trust you to watch my back."

'Why does Uranus trust Jupiter so much? It feels like her trust in Jupiter is more than from seeing Jupiter fight.'

"On the count of three, I'll take her back."

"Then I'll just attack her like I usually would!" Uranus said as she started a fist fight.

"Mercury...bubble spray!" With the mist covering me, I sneak behind our opponent.

"A mist won't help you, my nanobots can see through it!"

Vliuy tries to use her bracelet to reprogram her nanobots. I manage to take her attention off of Uranus with my sneak attack. With both her hands occupied, Uranus manages to hit her in her stomach.

"How dare you!"

We back off to give her space. After all, we need her to use her nanobots. That way we can deal with her while saving energy. Just as we planned, the damaged bracelet caused her nanobots to attack her and not us.

The nanobots ate her alive, leaving nothing but her soul left.

"Even technology can betray you." I say as I grab her bracelet.

I let my powers free and freeze it. Then hand it over to Uranus so she can smash it.

"You're not so bad, I'm impressed by your new changes."

"Thank you."
