Chapter 17: Rei misses Usagi

Usagi POV

I smiled happily at school. Ami has returned back to her normal self. We study together, play games at the arcade, and even go out to swim at her condo's pool.

It's my favourite time in school: lunch time. Lita offered me to make me a homemade bento, which I happily accepted. Ami, feeling sorry, gave me the newly released iPod.

We were discussing the Black Moon when Ami said, "Usagi, I think Rei is starting to miss you."

"What makes you think that?"

"Well in the meetings, she always looks at where you would sit. She's also been unusually quiet."

I nodded my head, "Well, it is hard for a tsundere like her to be alone. She just won't admit that she misses me."

"I know her words were harsh but, she only did it for your protection."

"Yes but, she doesn't realize that we're stronger together. And she's risking not only our relationship but, the entire team's bond."

Ami nodded her head, I could tell she was reflecting on her actions.

"How's Minako holding up?"

I said as I watched her eat lunch with Lita.

"Not good, she's not her cheerful self anymore."

Just as I was about to respond, the lunch bell rang- signalling the end of lunch. Gathering our stuff, I changed the topic, "So we have math next?"

Ami nodded her head, "We're working on harder algebra now."

'Good, then I can afford to zone out of this class.'

Truth be told, I was still healing from my own injuries, not to mention Mars as well.  Not to mention I'm hiding the fact that I'm transferring their injuries to my body. The only ones who know are: Luna, Shingo and Mamoru.

So I zone out of class to heal them. Of course, I hide this fact by hiding behind Mamoru's barrier, which he casted on me before school. The excuse I gave to Ami and Lita was, "Mamoru doesn't want to take any chances. He said I could get attacked at any moment, so he put up a crystal to hide the silver crystal's aura."

The two ladies bought the excuse, it was much easier to believe since we found out the Black Moon clan's goal last night. They wanted to get rid of the silver crystal, which they believe my daughter has. Which she does, but again- she can't even control it, let alone summon it from inside of her. At least not yet.

So during the rest of our classes, I used my crystal to heal any remaining injuries. Of course, Mamoru checked up on me.

'You're not spending too much energy right?'

'I'm fine. I'm more worried about you. Are you okay with using your crystal for so long?'

'I can handle this much.'

'Alright but I'll let you know as soon as I'm all healed. I don't want you to use too much energy, especially since you don't use it as often as I use mine.'

'I'm more worried about you. My crystal is fuelled mostly by the power of dreams that reside in my bloodline. It only takes a small amount of energy to do this. On the other hand, it costs you your life. It just proves how much energy is required to control the crystal.'

'I know, but I've gotten used to it. Don't worry, I can't get weak over something like this. We have to save the future first.'

After school, I decided to visit Grandpa Hino. It's been a while, and I want to introduce him to Chibi-usa. Of course, I have to pick her up from my house first.
