Chapter 45: Golden Crystal

Mamoru POV

I walk into the Crown Arcade as usual, feeling down.

"You okay?" Motoki asks me with a sad smile.

"I will be when Usagi-chan isn't as busy. Recently, she doesn't have time to spend with anyone."

"Ah, I totally understand what you mean. Reika is always away for work."

"How do you do it?"

Motoki hands me an iced americano.

"I simply do what I can do to support her. Text her, call her, go see her in person if I can, and she'll do the same."

'But I can't text her or call her....wait. Go to her? Why haven't I thought of it much sooner!'

"Motoki, you're a genius!"

"I am?"

I give him money for the drink and, run out of the arcade.

"I'll see you later!"

Once out, I run into the nearest alley and transform. Then I tell everyone my plan, and teleport to the Moon.

'If my princess is on the Moon, then I just have to go there! I've done it before so, who says I can't do it now.'

When I open my eyes, I see Queen Serenity and Sapphire welcoming me.

"We sensed your crystal, so we knew you were on your way here." Sapphire explains.

"Where's Serenity?"

"She doesn't wish to see you."

"You must be joking."

Queen Serenity and Sapphire block my way.

"Prince, you must be patient."

"I've gone long enough without seeing my princess!"

"You also spent the day on the beach with her, that was only two days ago."

"Two days feels like two years!"

"You must respect her wishes, my prince."

I turn around to see Pegasus in a crystal ball.

"W-why are you here?"

"Princess Serenity is fulfilling a request of mine. Until then, please wait patiently."

"Fine! I'll stay on the Moon until she agrees to meet me." 

'Serenity, just why are you avoiding me? Have you been avoiding me the whole time?'

I felt something off, but I could do nothing as I watched the two leave.

'Follow us Endymion, but make sure Queen Serenity can't sense you.'

'Sapphire? What's going on?'

'Something that I believe you should know.'

Queen Serenity POV

I sigh in relief as Prince Endymion agrees to wait. I walk towards my office, knowing that Sapphire and Pegasus will follow me.

"It won't take him long to realize that the Serenity isn't on the moon." Pegasus breaks the silence.

"We must hide it for as long as we can." I said as I try to relax.

"Queen Serenity, I believe we should let him know..." Sapphire begins again.

"What should I say to him? That Serenity went to infiltrate Nehelenia's base to retrieve Helios's body? Alone!"
