Words I Couldn't Say

Standing with his back to his bedroom door Hiro thought in the silence. Yet even though it was quiet he still heard words. The words he didn't get out. The fight Y/N and Hiro got in was the biggest yet. It was all Hiro's fault in reality and he knew that. If he would have told Y/N the things he should have she wouldn't have left. He wouldn't be lonely and she wouldn't be crying. Hiro stared at his phone, hoping, dreaming, wishing this wasn't real. That he was in a nightmare but when Y/N's phone went to voicemail again he knew he blew it. The fight was heated and full of anguish. 

"I hate you," they spat at eachother several times although never meaning it. It's what they said when they couldn't say anything else, when they couldn't think of anything else to say. 

"I'm sorry," Hiro sat down on the floor still staring at his cellphone screen. He shouldn't be saying sorry to the air. He should be saying sorry to her face. To her. He should go run and get her back. Tell her how much she really meant to him. But he stayed there in his dark room. The only light casting from the moon outside and his phone. "I wish I had a second chance," he hit his head against the wood. Why did things have to be so comlpicated? Why did Hiro have to Y/N she shouldn't go the college she wants, it's her choice, and for her benefit. Yet he was selfish and told her to stay in San Fransokyo with him. 

"Hiro why can't you just be happy for me ? I never said we have to break up, we can go long distant, we can make this work, I'll be home on breaks and holidays it will be fine," she said, tears coming out from the corner of her eyes. 

"It won't be the same, long distance realtionships never work any way," he yelled at her. Not meaning to be mean or hurt her, but it did. Y/N took all of her courage and lef thim there. She was going to fallow her dreams and if Hiro got in the way, then it was best for Y/N to leave him and that's what she did. Hiro held her back. He did it on purpose he wanted her all to himself. He was scared someone would take Y/N from him once she was in New York. Y/N wouldn't have let that happen, she was in love with Hiro, but after the argument it was different. She had her dreams set and would pursue them on way or another. If Hiro just apoligized and agreeded to a long distant realtionship he woulnd't be pulling his hair out and regretting what he said. But the words were ones he now couldn't say. It was too late.
