a little too much

She would not show that she was afraid,

But being and feeling alone was too much to face,

Though everyone said that she was so strong,

What they didn't know is that she could barely carry on

Y/N sat on the floor reading yet another novel. A love story, a love story she wishes was hers. Yet it was as if she was invisable and it was too much. She felt alone everyday. Going into school seemed to be a chore, she sat alone and would watch the packs of primp girls wearing new clothes that are in style. She felt ugly in her old jeans and blouse. She escaped into the book further and further until her phone buzzed. 

Hiro: hey ! 

The text shocked Y/N. Hiro was her best friend in elementary school but they lost touch after he moved to SFIT. 

Y/N: hi.

Hiro: mind if I sneak over today?

Y/N: no come on over, my mom is out running errands

Hiro: sweet see you in 5

Y/N's heart sped up a bit. She had a more than friendly feeling toward Hiro, she has since she was 12. Before she noticed the five minutes flew by and there was a knock at the front door. She opened to reveal a tall, handsome boy. She smiled up lovingly at him. 

"Hi," she spoke. 

"Hey," he came in for a hug and held her closely. Y/N heard Hiro's heart beat. It made her feel calm. "It's been too long, so what's new?" Hiro asked once inside Y/N's bedroom. 

"Nothing really," 

"Come on there has to be something, anything, friends?" 

"Only you HIro," she sighed. 

"Really I thought Al-" 

"No, she um, got this boyfriend who is well, he doesn't like me," she shrugged. 

"Why wouldn't anyone like you, you're awesome?" 

"I don't think so," she shook her head. She was very insecure. Hiro was the one who stuck up for her, who made sure she was happy, but after the transfer she went down hill. 

"You are smart, and funny, sweet, and pretty," Hiro listed. Y/N blushed. She hasn't heard such kind words in a long time. 

"Thanks but they don't think so," she sunk down on her bed next to Hiro. 

"You're strong, Y/N, look at me," Hiro commanded. Y/N sat up and looked into Hiro's big eyes. "They don't realize how great you are and you know what I'll show them," he smiled determined. 

"How?" 

"Well I'm taking a half year back here so.." he drew out. 

"No way," Y/N grinned year to year and lunged onto Hiro, hugging him.

"Yeah, I'm excited too, " he rubbed her back. 

"I'll finally be able to carry on," she whispered under her breath. 

"What?" 

"Nothing," 

"As long as you're happy I'm happy,"
