Gauri's Pov:
For the next few days we did not talk to each other. We did not even see each other, but all I knew was that he would leave early and come home late. Even the hospital environment had somewhat changed.
On the evening of one of these disrupted days, I was about to leave the hospital when I saw Mr. West walking towards me. That man had stirred the hell out of our lives.
"Ms. Sharma, this is for you." he said as he held out an envelope for me.
"What is this?" I asked coldly, I wasn't exactly going to talk to him with a million dollar smile.
"Let's just say that this is the consequence of your actions." he said with an evil smirk playing on his lips which I hated very dearly.
I tore open the envelope and read the letter inside.
Ms. Sharma,...
I was fired! What the hell?
"What nonsense is this?" I asked angrily.
"Like I said, the consequence." he said.
"Where is Om? I need to talk to him." I said.
"You may find him in the office." he told me and I drove myself to his office.
I entered his cabin to see him typing something on his laptop.
I opened my mouth to say, 'What is this?' but he cut me off even before I could say anything.
"I guess you found the letter." he said nonchalantly with a blank expression.
I was shocked for a bit, he knew?
"You know about this?" I asked.
This was the first time we had talked in weeks.
"Yes. I was the one who typed it. It's business, nothing personal." he said, continuing to type on his laptop again.
"Nothing personal? Why am I fired? You forgot to type that part in here." I said slamming the envelope on his desk.
"You gave out official information to our business rival. Information you should have never known in the first place. You are fired and a lawsuit is filed against you for the same." he said not meeting my eyes. It was like he had shut his emotions off or something.
"A lawsuit? For something that I never did?" I asked, astonished.
"I'll see you in the court. You may leave now." he said. Again with that stupid blank expression.
I was at a loss of words. The man I loved with all my heart was the one who never believed me. I was angry and sad but mostly heartbroken.
I turned around and about to leave when Om called out again.
"I never thought you would be like Rhiddima." he said coldly.
"And I never thought I would say this to you but, I hate you, Mr. Omkara Singh Oberoi." I said with tears threatening to fall at any minute.
Pov ends.
Om's Pov:
I hardly had the courage to tell her that I had a lawsuit filed against her. I loved her very much but yet another girl had deceived my heart. She was just like Rhiddima, and I hated it.
She was at a loss of words when I told her about the lawsuit. She looked sad and heartbroken but mostly angry, all at the same time.
She was about to leave when I called her.
"I never thought you would be like Rhiddima." I said coldly.
"And I never thought I would say this to you but, I hate you, Mr. Omkara Singh Oberoi." she said with tears threatening to fall at any minute.
She must really hate me, she called me by my full name. She never did that, because she understood that it came with a great responsibility and that I did not like it when someone especially her called me by that name. But, she doesn't deserve anything from me after deceiving me like this.
She left from there and my phone started ringing. That annoying tune was so irritating that I picked up my phone to throw it away. But when I saw Shivaay's name flashing on the phone I picked it up.
"Om what are you doing? Gauri can never do this. You have to believe her. She is not like that." Shivaay scolded me.
I was past believing all this crap. I had seen the evidence.
"No Shivaay. I have seen every single evidence that West has provided me. They are all against Gauri." I told him.
"Listen! I don't care if the evidence is about or against Gauri. We all know this and you know it too in your heart that she is not wrong here. Get her back Om!" Ani shouted from the other side.
"Ani, I've already fired her and filed a lawsuit against her. She is no better than Rhiddima." I told her.
"If you don't stop her now, I will never talk to you again; and I mean it." Ani threatened me.
"I guess you are going to spend a lot of time not talking to me then. Gauri isn't coming back, Ani." I said coldly.
I heard a few not very pleasing words by Ani, from the other side of the phone and Shivaay was on the line again.
"Anika is right, Gauri is like a sister to me and she will never be Rhiddima." Shivaay said.
"Well, congratulations brother, Rhiddima 2.0 not only fooled me but the whole damn Oberoi family." I said.
"You will regret everything you are saying right now." Shivaay said and hung up the phone.
I sat there all alone thinking about where I went wrong. I went wrong the moment I fell for her stupid tricks. But I loved her way too much to see her getting hurt. I quickly picked up my phone and called my lawyer.
"Mr. Jacobs? Hi, I'd like to take back the lawsuit we filed earlier. Yes, against Ms. Sharma. No, the reasons are personal. Please do that. Thank you." I told him.
He kept asking me if I was sure. Yes, I was.
I drove back home to tell Gauri that the lawsuit was cancelled. The lift doors opened and I rushed to Gauri's apartment only to see that it was locked. I knocked and rang the bell many times but got no response. Is she really this mad?
"Omkara?" I heard from behind me.
"Oh, hi Elle." I said as I turned behind to see Elle, the old lady who lived on the first floor.
"Elle have you seen Gauri?" I asked.
"Child she just moved out. The truck took away everything." Elle told me.
What? She can't do that. She just moved out? As in left?
I rushed to my apartment and took the spare key and opened Gauri's house. Empty. No furniture, nothing. She had left everything behind. She left me.
