After a while when Gauri and Stephine were a bit sober they were leaving. Gauri and Stephanie were walking out of the club when Gauri tripped over a table and was about to fall when someone caught her by her arm.
"Om?" Gauri asked.
"Who?" the man asked.
"You look a lot like him." Gauri said observing his features.
"I look like someone you used to know?" the man asked confused, yet with a smirk.
"She did, now bye-bye" Another voice said and Gauri went unconscious.
Gauri's Pov:
I woke up to sun rays hitting my face and my head aching like hell. Ugh, obviously I have a bad hangover.
This is bad.
Wait a minute, where am I?
Holy shit!
I found myself sleeping in someone else's bedroom, the same beach view, the same size of room but yet a different bedroom. I looked around and sighed in relief.
Thank god, I knew where I was.
"Hey stranger. How's that head after so many drinks?" he asked grinning.
"Oh, it's hurting." I replied chuckling.
"Come on, breakfast is ready." Lucas said and I rushed into the bathroom.
"You promised me that you wouldn't come to my place this week. Stand by your words, woman." Lucas mocked from outside the bathroom door.
"I never promised anything and you got me here." I replied back smiling.
Yes, I was at Lucas' place. I had been here a couple of times before, and so some of my clothes were here. I took a quick shower and changed into fresh clothes and hurried downstairs to see Caroline munching on pancakes.
"I don't think we're gonna have enough left to eat since Caroline has already started." I teased Caroline, Lucas' 14 year old daughter.
"Hey, good morning to you too, 'Ms. hungover'. Honestly I'd give you a nasty look but you've already got one." she taunted back.
"Don't get bitter honey, just get better." I said chuckling as I sat beside her.
She was like my little sister, yeah the littlest since she was 14 and I was 28. We bickered a lot and teased each other way too much.
Like a bit over the top.
"Oh, where is Steph?" I asked as Lucas placed a plate in front of me.
"Here." I heard a tired and hair-messed Stephanie walking towards me.
"Would you look at that?" Caroline snickered.
"What?" Stephanie asked as she had no idea how bad her hair was.
"You work in a fashion company for god's sake. Learn to keep up." Lucas said laughing as he flipped another pancake.
Lucas was mine and Stephanie's boss, but Stephanie was a good friend. He owned a fashion company.
"You've got bed hair." I told her, stuffing in a mouthful of pancakes.
"Oh come on!" Steph cried out and went back upstairs.
"You can ditch work today if you want to, I happen to know your boss." Lucas said.
"Oh really? When you meet him tell him that I don't need another day off. Just because he knows that this week means a hell-week for me doesn't mean he has to give me another holiday. Work takes my mind off of things." I told Lucas, who in fact was my boss.
"Oh and tell him that he is the best boss anybody could have. Thank you but I want to work this week, especially this week." I said smiling.
"As you wish." he replied.
He knew all about my past. Everything.
Evening:
"Hey, you told me that there was this new client. What's that about?" I asked Lucas, entering his cabin.
"Yeah, I am gonna handle that one." he said nervously.
Why?
"Why? I am your assistant and I pretty much understand about this whole fashion industry now." I asked tensed.
"It's just too personal. It has nothing to do with your capabilities. You are great." he assured.
"Thanks, but too personal for you?" I asked.
"No actually. Too personal for you." he said.
What could be so personal that he wouldn't even let me work with him. Before I could say anything, he spoke up again.
"Hey, by the way Caroline is gone to friend's place tonight, wanna go out for dinner?" Lucas suggested.
I thought for a while and decided that it wouldn't be bad.
"Come on, it's not that bad to go out for dinner with your husband." He said.
