Om's Pov:
Soon, the vows, and I do's were done and we were all then shifted to a covered place. The music started playing and the bride and groom started their first dance. It was wonderful to watch, but all I could notice in the room full of people was Gauri continuously mingling and talking to that seemingly handsome man. I found out that his name was Lucas James and he apparently was the designer of Prinku's wedding dresses.
What a small world.
He and Gauri were sitting at one table along with his daughter Caroline, if I remember correctly. It seemed that she had not noticed me yet or she would have gone bonkers then and there.
Well not literally, you know what I mean.
I'm a little excited right now, now that she is innocent and all and the fact that she is literally in front of me.
Finally!
The music started playing once again and Lucas took Stephanie on the dance floor. Apparently, Stephanie had lost her father at a young age so Lucas had volunteered to do the father-daughter dance with her. I really didn't want to like this guy because he was joined to the hip with Gauri, but he seemed to be a good person.
The father-daughter, no, 'Lucas-Stephanie' dance was over and then Stephanie started dancing with her newly wed husband once again. While I watched Gauri who was happily watching them dance while sipping on her champagne.
Lucas then walked towards Gauri who was sitting at her table, and forwarded his hand for her to take; and she took it!
Happily, may I add.
What did I say about being joined to the hip?
Gauri and Lucas started dancing and I so wanted it to be me dancing with Gauri. Gauri was laughing and smiling as she danced with Lucas. It was good to see her laugh, like she had no scars or pain in her life. Lucas and Gauri danced along to the song, singing the lyrics to each other; laughing and giggling as if they had the biggest inner jokes. {listen to the song}
I was way out of my comfort zone watching them giggling and swaying together.
"Cool down bro." I heard Rudra say.
"What? I am absolutely fine." I said a bit high pitched.
I was most definitely not fine.
I was a thousand miles far from FINE.
"Yeah? Then why are you clenching your fists?" He asked and I looked at my tightened fists.
Oh.
I opened them up and relaxed but the sight was infuriating.
Goddamn it!
It was awful!
"Dance with me?" A girl came up to me.
Excuse me? Who might you be? I thought to myself and then mentally judged her to be one of the types of girls who would probably throw herself at any man.
"What!? Omkara Singh Oberoi! You're taught better than this." My subconscious scolded me. "You cannot go around judging people. Maybe she doesn't know you and just wants a dance."
"Sure." I said and I joined the dance floor with the girl.
I didn't even know her name.
We danced for a while and I was trying very hard to get Gauri to notice me but that didn't seem to work because she was too busy dancing with Mr. James!
